Yeah sometimes clean bass doesn’t hit as hard as it should especially if your expectations on music comes from live performance which mine is.

Can someone recommend me a couple iems at $50. Not sure about tuning preferences since this is for someone else, although the typical signatures from this thread would work. Mostly looking for impressive technical performance. Thanks!
You’re gonna need a couple of weeks/months?. There’s a few IEMs coming out at $50 that might change opinions

While I agree with your take on the Elixir, the Kato was pretty well received.
I will also add that HBB has done two very good IEMs. I have enjoyed Mele and Olina and Kai seems like it went for a middle ground between those two. I am curious to see what it sounds like.
I love the modded Olina, which many people say is similar to the Seek Real Airship, and that was an effort to tame the treble on the Olina, or find a middle ground.

Moondrop Chu if they want a more neutral sound
CCA CRA if they want more energetic fun and a V-shape sound
Tripowin Mele if they want something with less treble energy
BLON 03 if they want more of a middle ground between CRA and Mele

BL-03 can be tricky to fit for some people ( they don’t stay in my ears ), but the rest of those are pretty easy picks.
The Chu and CRA are only $20 and $15 for added bonus, so you could try both and be under budget.
@hawaiibadboy Olina arrived today. Can’t believe I held out until now. Best dollar to performance IEM I’ve heard to date. Right out of the box with E-Tips I could tell they’d be just a touch to energetic for longer sessions. Still great sounding though and only a minor issue for me. Did the double filter and vent mod and all I can say is, Wow! Honestly feel if the Olina had been the first IEM in my journey I may have stopped searching. These are definitely holding their own with my Tea, UP and Moonlight.

I agree. Same level as Tea for me and my rankings. If someone gave me double filter olina to demo and said it costed 300, I wouldnt blink.

I figured you would enjoy them. We have very similar tastes, and Olina got me to a very content place with my IEMs. Prior to that one, I was buying new stuff constantly.
I was a day one preorder for Olina back in February, and I have only ordered two IEMs since. I broke down and got the Mangird Tea in late May, and just ordered the TRI x HBB KAI this week.
My regular rotation is Tea, Olina, and S12.

UP was my first purchase that really hit the spot. Still wanted more though. Tea was the one that pushed a lot to the side which all went up for sale. It was the one that made me seriously feel the need to slow down. At least with regards to higher priced choices. Moonlight is the closest I’ve heard to what I’d consider my perfect all arounder. I made an exception for it because my understanding of my preferences and using graphs as guidelines had developed more. It ended being a winner luckily.
It has definitely hit my desire to not be tempted to chase more for awhile in its price range. As an all arounder, which is what generally what I prefer, it’s top dog. Maybe my ears aren’t trained enough but, I can’t find any major faults in it that I’d want something else to improve.
So I’m diving into the lower budget where I started and missed. It’s been on roll lately especially with all the awesome collaborations and @Rikudou_Goku buds. Olina may have hit it on first go. It’s also the best tonal single DD for my preference I’ve heard so, two birds with one stone. Mele, Kai and Olina were all ordered together. Possible one of the other two may take its place or compliment it.

As an Airship ow er they are nice. Share these all rate I have no idea. I will either get Olina and mid or Kai. I am at the moment undecided.

The Machina could be the first on I pop the big bucks for. I held out on Lave. E cause Shuoer did not tune them like the prototype.
