Thanks!
Using music to decribe driver performance is the only thing I trust, so it’s the only thing i say.
No disrespect to “layering” “feathering” “transients” “attack”
I like AST more than AS10 as KZ’s all BA offering and it fatigues less than the hybrid sets. It is a “V” but not at expense of vocalists. I will compare when i do a vid for that price range
Yeah, unless/until there’s a technology leap, DD forever for me.
I’ll deal with coherency issues and use hybrids because I do appreciate the detail retrieval we get from BA, but I need DD for bass.
That said, I remain on the hunt for a not-crazily priced all DD (not necessarily single DD) set. Tried Luna…the upper mid/lower treble just sounded weird to me. Curious about the Senn IE900.
I will let you know.
Presentation :Box, cables (are like cables off a $25 chifiset)…really surprise me. I paid $1,600 inJapan for a set that is packaged like a budget set.
I hope the SQ is fantastic because the effort and money put into presentation is embarrasing
BTW… Great video concerning budget headphones vs earphones. Just finished watching it. I really enjoy your videos where you just discuss an audiophile topic and give your perspective.
I have noticed in the last few vids it looks like you’ve got the Argons permanently plugged into the Topping stack. I finally got my Argon order placed after 3 tries. Now the wait. Do they have good synergy with the Topping stack? Im in the market for a Dac+Amp that can do double duty for my iems and the Argons and the D30pro/A30pro is at the top of my list. Your thoughts on the pairing would be appreciated.
Thanks. I actually prefer something (gear) with a bit of extra forward presence in the upper mid/lower treble area. Which is why I think (based on reviews) the Topping stack will hit that mark.
I’m not after a laidback listening experience. Fun, a bit intense, forward as some might describe it.
For music lovers who are a little more “bass lovers” that would be my recommendation, a little less defined in the respective frequency ranges, but still fantastically audible in all music genres, as otherwise it is not very far from the 900 in terms of sound quality.
From the official product page(ie900):
“Each termination is seated within a recessed, 4.8 mm-wide socket below the surface of the housing”
Leave it to sennheiser to turn a standard plug into something proprietary…
How is the fit with these? I really don’t like IEM comfort in general but I can’t dismiss their value in sound per dollar. Me left ear is fine but in the right I never get a proper fit and seal.
Unfortunately local dealers here don’t do returns for iem’s.

Hi Chris,
After your review I decided to get the Oracle and they are fantastic; my first EST IEM and I love treble done well, so I am thrilled. I just wonder if the Oracle requires a burn-in.
They sound very different from my tube amp to my N6ii DAP; not bad just very different and almost like a different IEM. So either they don’t match a tube as well as a SS or they need burn-in.
