Bad Guy Good Audio Rankings and stuff (under construction) (Part 2)

Its less about the power (if you did feed 1 Watt into an iem you would have murdered both it and your ears) and more about the BC difference in those 2. The MEST lineup uses piezo based BC, while the MEXT seems to be more like the bass/vibration type that is the latest hype nowadays. (Empire Ears, TRN/CVJ, Kinera…etc…)

exactly…different BC tech between the two…but I won’t feel the tactile vibration on the Mext when it’s on one of my lower powered sources…but it vibrates quite a lot on my Aune S17 pro

that’s 7.5 watts…and yes I know that is not what I’m listening at

Are you sure you are using the same volume?

yes…about 80db

I’m telling you Riku…it’s like a bumblebee in your ear on certain passages

Same pace, different style…drummers have been going at with passion and fury for over half a century before GarageBand could make it as easy as a touch of a button…

I’m so grateful these days we can get good SQ accessibly. Bass was adrift on the ocean, now I can see land at least but I still often have to turn to EQ out of necessity rather than choice to reach what I understand as authentic playback. I’m sure I’m not alone and that many libraries remain underserved by the wave of Harman. I fear Fatfreq or xHBB Jupiter style tunings will continue to be seen as niche. I always appreciated Sony’s balls to push for something different, I hope they’re cookin’

Sony were the ballers of their day…after Z1r they’re not as enthusiastic about reclaiming their throne…they got me into IEMs

I’m sure the bean counters had something to do with that…they have so many resources that if they really wanted…it would be lights out for a lot of chi-fi

Sony can still surprise, always come up with solutions to problems the market didn’t know it needed until they were shown…like apple…but Sony did it first. In my imagination, Sony Corp. leaves the committees to their consumer products, finds passionate engineers and artists - sends them away with a boat load of money and time to think and create as long as they need

I hope they do

Regarding CPBA7

It’s basically U12T with newer drivers, better timbre and like…end game mids. Vocals are right there with Ngaudio Khaos which is probably the best set I’ve ever heard.

Stock cable sure feels and looks a lot like Eletech Prudence.

These two are special.

Try this with your Canpur, right off this vid is fine it’s just a huge 42Hz hit.
Wanna see if it vibes in your ear like the flagship model

Head Fi is a corporate promo machine.
I’ve seen a guy get removed and all his complaints erased claiming a EE set was missing drivers
he had proof
Worse than Head fi deleting him and all his posts
Nobody who saw it ever brought it up
Community…
That’s not a Community it’s a honeypot

Imagine if IEMs were designed to be repairable. Imagine paying a reasonable fee, or even none (if warranty permits), for a fix? If only there was someone who could pull it off…
