My plan exactly. I was comparing the MMKII’s FR to the Prestige last night and I couldn’t help but to think that the Prestige seems to ‘fix’ all of the issues found in the MMKII, according the graph of course.
What I didn’t realize is how close the Meteors were … I didn’t even think of checking tbh.
I wonder how close they are to one another and how much extra performance do you get for more than double the price? It’d be amazing to see a comparison between the two.

I only noticed because I always load my top three sets to compare newer stuff too. Especially taking a look at the upper midrange and treble. Really interested in what the bass response difference will be between the BA and DD if they are similar in sound.
I do something similar - The Monarch’s are usually my baseline for treble and upper mids. This is seriously good insight, as now I’m curious if I can save my wallet $700 and have a similarly performing set in the Meteor.
You had Meteor and Top at the same time too, didn’t you? Or am I thinking of someone else?
I did a switch from Cadenza to Mele, and thought exactly the same thing. They are very different sounding.
You can assume Maka was going to change/refine the Mele sound signature. Otherwise you don’t need a replacement. Cadenza must have hit close enough to what HBB was aiming for that Maka was redundant
I thought it was “doubt and pain.” I have been singin’ this one wrong for decades now. This isn’t the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last lol! 
I’m actually keeping an eye out for a good deal on the Meteors and I have my pair of Prestige on the way. I am finishing up the single DD shootout today and once I get the two that don’t make it packed back up, that would free me up to snag a pair of them if a good used price pops up. If that ends up happening, I can let you know how the two compare.
No I haven’t owned the Top. @nymz and a few others have steered me towards it being a bit to spicy for me. Mainly because of the 4.5k rise. Much as of love the UP and Tea at this point I’ve scratched it off my list of interest even on the used market.
