Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

That is high praise indeed. Another to add to my list of ‘to demo IEMs’ then.

I was about to say ‘the Anomaly sure looks different’ (just joking)

Yes, bro!

Mainly physio today, followed by cheesy eggs, bacon mushrooms and broccoli. I’ll be on the bags tomorrow. Need to make sure I get in extra early so I can get the best part of an hour of drills.

on 1st listen it is clearly better than Spartan.
That Electret driver is ass.
So the more affordable of the 2 is the more coherent one.

They are getting help.
By “help”, I mean …if Jerry Harvey had sought out that help earlier
he wouldn’t have basically folded
Empire Ears would not have ground to a halt with EE X “Some other company”
being only profit making option.

The Economics of “Business”

Being a person who promotes China made goods…watching other China cough supported goods (advertised as other indirectly) get the big markup and them being implied to be superior…is a bit annoying.

Truth is (which many know but don’t say) is that most earphones come from China.
Almost ALL of the internal components are sourced from China.

If MADE IN CHINA is something folks think is bad…they really have been captured by this hobby.

Should serve as a warning to those who still believe that a higher price equates better performance / quality.

Spartan? You mean Legion

The Aegis is even considered better by the creator of both lol.

There is an upcoming Quadbrid for the Arsenal Collection, with the following config: 1DD, 1BC, 1 BA & 1 EST

I believe this one has a true EST and is estimated around $1200-1300.

Supposedly a straight upgrade to Aegis.

My Bad…yes Legion. That cap which isn’t a Spartan helmet actually…just pops that right in my head for some reason

Completely agree. The one thing where some of the Chinese manufacturers are not helping themselves is perhaps the ‘sold from’ China part and the issues that arises (at times) when there are defective units involved (we’ve all seen those posts on Hifiguides I think). People are used to the way in which Western companies deal with that sort of thing (there are exceptions as well of course, but in Europe laws are quite strict so we expect the same when ordering abroad I think). The easy way around that is to buy from reputable resellers of course, even if that means less variety.

That sounds interesting as well. Hope Flipears can maintain their level.

PS Yeah, the Alien Brain looks whack in the photos, but I am intrigued enough to want to try it out if I get the chance.

Cap looks like Hades cousin and is from China…and I like it actually.
I was just talking about ODM

There aren’t that many reviews out yet but the Alien Brain caps are apparently quite nice when you see them IRL. PS I was reacting to the clipped part form the Alien Brain thread (just to avoid confusion).

Point taken. Fair and Accurate.

Counterpoint:
People who use Amazon’s return policy (or used to) to get sets to try without any intention on keeping them.
That’s Fraud, and I can’t believe anyone ever said that shit out loud.
Those same folks, try and return sets to China with fraudulent claims.
If a company asked me to destroy a set on video…I’d jump at the chance!

Can we livestream it?
Will you please post my vid on yours site?
Can I smash everyone’s bad set?

Just got to share this.

Congrats to buyer…

Completely agree with your counterpoint. That kind of behaviour is unacceptable. That means they must have also made up issues with the sets they ordered, right (not just with the Chinese sets I mean)? Over here, you cannot return any IEMs bought on Amazon once the package has been opened (unless there is a defect) because they are classified as a ‘hygiene item’. I assume that’s standard policy for Amazon everywhere. The mind boggles what people will do nowadays without any sense of shame…

I started on the bags today but got my drill pace wrong again. I put a playlist on and worked it for 15 minutes or so. Then I remembered that I had a specific boxing playlist from years ago. I wasn’t sure how long I’d been going (it felt longer) and the first track that played used to be my finishing track, so I put some effort in. I was disappointed when I saw how long I had done at the end but it felt really good to do my routine again.

So what I have currently in my possession is the following:

IEMs:
EJ07 Original
Flipears Aegis

Sources:
iBasso DC Elite
Earmen L-Amp
Cayin Ru7

Let me know if you would like an in-depth rambling-style video where I give my impressions on each unit and pairing synergy :v: :joy:

I never did any such video before, but I feel like it could be helpful and interesting.

I would definitely want to hear an actual owner’s (as opposed to reviewer’s) opinion on the Earman en Elite. Especially the Elite goes from competent to ‘best thing since sliced bread regardless of price’ as far as the reviews out there are concerned.
