For sure, man.
I knew they’d take care of it, but they’re just trying to take care of business.

Yeap there will be some differences between units I suppose since they are hand made right?
thats good to hear! I think us audiophiles should show you our gratitude for sacrificing yourself testing it to its limit and letting us know!
Basically
speak for yourself…
audiophile = no
love music = yes
It’s good to see a company taking care of customers with issues like this. I’ve seen nightmare posts from people with various other brands (and sellers) where they fought against a replacement and argued with them about whether they caused the damage due to mishandling.
Glad FatFreq doesn’t play those games.
oh yeah for sure, my past experience w FF was quite good too… really glad they arent neglecting such mishaps due to their crazy workload rn…
??? What is the price range and what iem?
He puts a lot of work into this! Just remember the final EQ’ed tuning is HIS preferred tuning, not a universal perfect sound for all!
Really bummed to relay some bad news, but Phil Lesh the bassist for the Grateful Dead passed away today. He was 84.
Sad day.
I could write a few words with essentially the same opinion on this set after my first impression, but I’ll just steal yours.
The best thing I realized about discovering the audiophile hobby is that I don’t want to be one.
Oh boy…here we go:
I never questioned what you said about the build (plastic) quality. I do actually agree with you on that. I never questioned your taste in sound or the comparison you made. We all are and hear different so that taste or opinion will always differ.
But my question remain: did you opened these sets before selling on eBay?..or after? how else you know whats inside?
…and yet you make assumptions of whats inside without opening them or the the other set that you mentioned.
And you continue to rumble on and on and present us with your 2 favourite sets…But bro!!! Variations? The one you are selling again on eBay? how am I to believe anything you say now? ring a bell? let’s refresh our memory:
''I’m not selling it(Deuce)…listed and sold same day on eBay. Comment something here on topic–then you got some funky replies then you came back with this: '‘So after spending more time with the Deuce this is what I think’’ …but by that time you did not had the DEUCE anymore to ‘‘spend more time with it’’. ALSO: ‘‘my eyes opened and I stay with this two „special sounding IEM’s” (for my ears) for now.’’ yet I just remembered your set(Variations) is listed on eBay and here’s the proof of that: — I can see your order number —same one with the one you posted here a few days ago…God bless my visual memory
Next time when a simple question makes you jumpy think about why.
I will stop here by saying: I do apologise if you feel hurt by your own actions…that I only pointed out because was wrong what you did. FACTS not stories.
As for HBB and any moderators feel free to take this down if went to far. I just wanted to state the facts not feelings and stories. Best regards
From a post on fb i wrote in reply to a friends phil post so excuse the beginning-
In July i got into listening to IEMs (In Ear Monitors). From the first listen i was amazed at how they brought music to life in that the instrument separation, clarity, loudness, stage presence, and just the overall quality was much better than any headphones i had heard and they rivaled/beat my home theater.
Perhaps unfairly, Phil’s importance to the music was never appreciated as much as other members to me. But with the IEMs the bass came alive in a way that is nearly unexplainable. Sure, one could say that in general IEMs notch up the sub bass and mid bass a few DB, but it is more than that. The bass became the leader of jams and it was good, damn good! I am no musician, no audiophile, no music historian, but one doesnt have to be if one can dig the Dead and hear the bass lines- especially in jam sections like Playing or Eyes- to appreciate the beauty of Phil’s playing.
My sister recollected recently about her baby sitter taking her to the Iowa State Fair in 74 (exactly 2 weeks before i was born) and watching some of the show. I found a Road Trips album on Tidal that had about 8-9 songs from the show. Holy Sh!t was all i could think after hearing it with the iems. The bass playing in that show…well i cant explain the impact so you will just have to listen for yourself.
Thanks Phil for so many a real good time! The cosmos has collected another star.
Sorry if you feel like that. I did just stated facts(in my humble opinion). Like I have said in my previous comment, I will not continue this as I’ve seen what I needed to see. Best regards.
It has the same DD as the Scarlett The mid treble DD is also high quality. The Scarlett is said to have epic bass quality at $500? Arguing about driver quality when I know exactly which driver is in the Variations is a waste of time.
Ignore stuff that seems to go beyond ear canal and libraries. I do and it works.
R.I.P Phil
