Looking forward to getting some time with this today. I’ve had a few pricey/TOTL DAPs but always come back to my R4. I’m hoping this will vibe with me.
I don’t really have use for DAPs, but I kinda want that dap. Looks gorgeous.
Decided to more upper body today and then legs and core tomorrow.
Gonna be canoeing for 6 hours on Friday and will need my endurance!
I use my ONIX all the time. I expected to move on but just hits all the right buttons for me. No LO but I have other stuff for less portable solutions
I’m done with planars personally. Timeless tuning looks better to me, better position of pinna-peak and far less of valley in the wallet.
Don’t support FatFreq.
I was off the train when they made me wait 4 months for maestro se. Scarlet mini was another shitshow. When Deuce launched I just grabbed it from my local retailer HPZ. I’M not supporting these wild ppl.
Edit - I didn’t bought scarlet mini. My personal limit is Punch
"You’re thinking of the Sunk Cost Fallacy. The Sunk Cost Fallacy is a cognitive bias that occurs when someone continues to invest time, money, or effort into something because of the resources they have already committed, even if it no longer makes sense to do so.
The term “sunk cost” refers to a cost that has already been incurred and cannot be recovered. The fallacy arises when someone uses this sunk cost as a reason to continue investing in something, rather than making a decision based on the current situation and future prospects.
For example, imagine someone buys a expensive ticket to a concert, but then realizes they don’t really want to go. They might still attend the concert because they don’t want to “waste” the money they spent on the ticket, even if they would be happier doing something else.
The Sunk Cost Fallacy can apply to many areas of life, including investments, relationships, and even hobbies. It’s a common pitfall that can lead to irrational decision-making and a failure to cut losses when necessary.
The key to avoiding the Sunk Cost Fallacy is to recognize that past investments are irrelevant to future decisions. Instead, focus on the current situation and make decisions based on what is likely to happen in the future, rather than trying to recoup past losses or justify past investments."
I knew of this related to investing but Venice.ai reminds us that it applies more broadly than that. Humans are such strange yet beautiful beasts. Our brains…
I train on street, sparring and at the building I do bag work by myself
These girls came around and started doing Tick Tock stuff (I assume)
Told them that a camera was right there…F.Y.I
They said they knew and whatever ( Wakata/ iiii yo )
Today I found a thermas and checked the vid and they were doing their thing, then sat and flashed the camera
(not included for obvious reasons)
They obviously thought it was hilarious.
First thing I thought about was my Son Kai.
He’s 2.5 years old.
What is the World going to be like when he’s a teen??
I worry.
FiiO will not be alone…
A Statement To Our Valued Customers in the United States
Due to well-known circumstances, the sales of FIIO products in the U.S. will be significantly impacted. While we should adjust retail prices immediately, current policies are undergoing rapid changes, making it impossible for us to quickly update pricing across all online and offline sales channels in the U.S. Additionally, FIIO still has limited inventory remaining in the U.S.
As a result, we must wait for the finalization of relevant policies and monitor inventory levels before making any adjustments to FIIO’s retail pricing in the U.S. market.
We sincerely appreciate the longstanding support of all FIIO users in the U.S. and kindly ask for your understanding. FIIO has always adhered to a low-margin, high-volume business model. Under the current circumstances, maintaining existing retail prices would make our U.S. operations unsustainable. Therefore, we encourage customers to make purchasing decisions based on actual needs.
If the product inventory in the U.S. sells out before tariff policies are finalized, we may have to suspend sales to avoid losses. Should policies stabilize, we will determine final retail prices based on the confirmed tariff rates. Thank you for your continued trust and support.
Best regards,
Guangzhou FIIO Electronics Technology Co., Ltd…
Now we have this scenario…
and iPhones costing $2700-3000
Even Idiocracy didn’t come close to imagining what we’re currently living through.
The eternal parent’s conundrum. You’ve got a good head on your shoulders and you’re doing everything you can to raise him right, and that’s all you can do; the world will change as the world wills but character can temper one against these things. I think Kai’s gonna be just fine.
Exactly, respectful discussion is how the hobby grows. It’s totally fine to have different takes, especially in something as subjective as audio where perception can vary so much. Dismissing someone’s opinion just shuts down any meaningful dialogue.
I totally get where you’re coming from with the cable reviews too. Just because you didn’t hear a difference doesn’t mean others are wrong if they did and vice versa. That’s what makes discussion interesting: different ears, different setups, different perspectives.
Skepticism is healthy, especially in a space where marketing can get a little… creative. But we can question things without attacking each other. Basic respect goes a long way.
Given that it looks like a price hike on headphones and IEMs is on the cards, and I believe retailers will hike the price of all goods to compensate losses or just to greedily run higher prices, I have just purchased a long standing wish list set of HPs, the Sennheiser HD600. Ostensibly for my birthday, some 5 months away ( I will check they work when they arrive and put them away until my birthday).
The US is going to be hit in a major way by the new tariffs for our beloved hobby. Obviously it doesn’t affect those in Europe and the UK quite as much, but as I mentioned, retailers will need to rebalance their business models and adjust accordingly, and despite what politicians are espousing, the people who will eventually pay the price will be the consumers.
I made a killing on Nvidia, Palantir, IONQ and some other stocks.
Wiped out in 2 weeks.
If not for Gold I woulda been crushed. What an epic shitshow/Reset
This will impact savings for home purchases and murder the Realestate market in the coming months.
I made my money in Hawaii Real Estate during LH to FS conversions.
When people suffer others profit.
Thanks.
Yeah, my mind always goes to him. I’ll do my best.
Shenzen has a special tax status in China but it wasn’t built to handle tariff wars so yeah, stuff is going to get more expensive. I just bought the set Kendrick wore at Super Bowl and pre ordered 2 upcoming flagships.
Just spotted shill thread.
HF jr…with better mods
There is talk of Apple hiking prices in all markets to avoid becoming too expensive in the US for anyone to afford (although Apple is of course already up there in terms of pricing). I can see the IEM industry do the same seeing that they operate on a much smaller scale.
It’s never been that and you know it…A little bit crazy but mostly a place where folks can have their say and opinions without being judged or called out… yeah I know companies take the piss and lean on us but overall I reckon we’re pretty solid?
