Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (A Million views?) Part 3/4

Its good and I didn’t have to mess the eq. But the thieaudio origin detail beats it.

Not summit-fi in price or driver count, but the new Prisma Audio co-flagships are set for a July release (both 1DD/4BA, two different tunings for preference).

His original project, Azul, was kind of an undergroud hit. The man behind the company is @veebee if you have any questions.

This is completely unrelated, but I recently scooped a used Arcadia and I have to say that you knocked it out of the park @hawaiibadboy ! I enjoy my lowend but previous experiences have taught me that I’m not a true basshead, and this set is right at the perfect line for me. Was using it to listen to the new Froglord album ‘Metamorphasis’ which released yesterday and it bangs for Stoner/Sludge Metal without burying the vocals and treble. I’ve got an extended work trip coming up and Arcadia is definitely coming along for the ride. I can’t believe this set doesn’t get more love (even if it does get overshadowed by Odyssey as a better all-rounder).

Thanks. Arcadia/Punch/Jupiter are my 3 fave collabs by a wide margin.

I’m looking forward to Vebee’s set cuz it uses brand drivers. I gotta wait a month or 2 before I can get a set in my hand.
Waiting is the work in big money arena :ghost:

Just landed in, it seems like the bcd is doing less than seen in your video unfortunately :upside_down_face: i enjoy it the set far but it the bass shelf starts too early for male vocals and can be a little dark in the upper treble (which i fixed with eq :+1: )

Glad I did a video and didn’t just say it slides across my table. That’s the great thing about Bass. You can show it

yea i think it may be an issue with my set because the bcd rumble or slam on my set is almost unpercievable at non deafening listening volumes, which goes against all reviews/impressions ive seen :woman_shrugging: anyways

I think it was retuned to be less tactile as it is nearly a distraction unless you are looking for force feedback stuff/ Basshead. I’ll find my old vid and show it. It wasn’t cranked or EQ as I showed in the vid.
It’s in this thread somewhere

So in the end, the Night Oblivion didn’t replace the IE600?

Yeah, :joy: I saw that on my phone for the first time with lights off and blew my phone pixels out and scorched  my eyes

Jesus Christ

On my PC it looks normal (i was going to fix it)

No, it’s a very good tribrid with branded drivers and good tuning.
I’d keep IE600 there for now until something else comes along
Having to pick 10 and only 10 makes the thinking and listening deeper.
Old list was a worthless hype tool.

What from the lists above would you all see as a successor to the UM Mest MKii? I love the Mest MKii (female vocals/K-popish/jazz/ballads/etc.) just wish it had a tad more bass. Would the Valhalla fit the bill?

*I do also have and love the KE HBB Punch but use that for specific genres in ,y collection (love the Punch for 2Pac All Eyes Album, holy crap!).

Thanks!

MEST/MKII upgrade on my list would be PMG APX SE
I love Valhalla and rank it high but the Mest is a big presentation (stage in your head) to me anyway.
Valhalla is a sidegrade IMO. Great lvl to be moving sideways on. but MEST big deal is an abnormal ear gain tuning that the BCd actually impact and it gives a perfect vocal replay with a huge arena sound. So other sets with low eargain present like Dunu SA6 series which i think UM sounds nothing like (luckily).

I think Valhalla, as much as I like it, would sound “V” shaped in comparison to Mest MKII especially with vocals

I don’t think so but I can see if there is a snapshot like function that shows older versions of a Google Doc :+1:

MEST Jet Black has more bass/better texture and impact than Mk II had, but I’d need to A/B to say how different the upper mids/treble are. I got the JB because I missed my Mk II and think it may scratch that itch that you’re looking for, but there’s also always the opportunity to try something completely different!
