I am sorry for my bad wording both before and in advanceđ. The KZ meme was exclusively regarding the high release frequency, where I would think KZ and derives are unbeatable. I did not mean that they donât sell!
And the best remark is something I thought we all had noticed; tons of people asking âWhat is the best IEM in existence?â, or âWhat is the best Ziigaat please?â
As perverse is as it may sound, the current way of how alot of people buy and consume things is exactly something along the lines of âInfluencer/Reviewer/Stakeholder says product x is the best and you should get it.â So people get âproduct xâ. It shouldnât be like that, but it seems like it is. Most people prefer conveniece and being told what to do. Itâs easy, a cop out, relinquishing responsibility, whatever you want to call it.
Personally I prefer spending time researching things, questioning things. Sometimes the chase is more rewarding than the purchase because of what Iâve learned along the way.
As for the rapid releases thing. Iâve obviously based my statement on my own logic because I donât have access to actual financial results and other relevant numbers.
I think a scenario like Blon might indeed be one of the best you can have. Have one or 2 low costs absolute bangers with staying power sets that become one if not the default rec for people who want to step into the iem game. (or have a welltuned budget TWS like the Moondrop Spacetravel).
Let the money roll in and use that money to work on a successor and some slow burning prestige sets once per year.
Easy words, I know. But in my mind and available data, that would be how Iâd run things.
I need a coffee. My apologies. I am bad at doing the â act like a normal human being â thing. Lack of coffee is not an excuse. Particularly saying shit that remotely supports KZâs bonkers self destruction
Itâs pretty much how all hobbies work. I think during COVID many hobbies had a surge of opinion giviers but instead of balancing out what might have been a stale overly âfriendly â super circle jerk it was the circle jerk and human bots that increased.
Agree with this point. I think reviewers can to a certain extent be a basis for your research (mostly because most of us dont have the chance to demo stuff), especially if you know that your taste in tuning is similar to the reviewers. But even then thats not completely gonna be 100% the same. But yea, too often I saw people taking reviews or other peoples opinions on face value then regretting their purchase and blaming it on others. I also enjoy the research part. Feels rewarding when it hits, but when it doesnt then I learn from it then move on
This thread and the folks who occupy it are my daily dose. I avoid places like Discord and Facebook mostly because this is wide open. I like staying open and away from DM . Bad part is eeeeveryone sees your ass when you act stupid .
To be fair, we all act stupid from time to time. The great part about this thread and community (IMO) is the fact that, when it happens, it gets resolved in a mature fashion and we move on. PS most parents just give their kids an iPad and are done with it. Makes what you do admirable (though it should be normal of course, parents spending time with their kids).
And the desire to keep learning. As someone who worked in higher ed for the most part of his life, thatâs something that goes down the drain fast unfortunatelyâŠ
We just hit 1,147,000 views
about 26,000 comments.
We lost a lot of folks along the way.
Some were very nice when trying to get the plug
They changed ( my problem)
They played games with a seller (their problem)
Now they sniff HifiNoâs ass and hate life because of that.
Saying âSorryâ is easy when you are wrong.
Nobody with a brain gives a fuck about virtual pride and ego.
Itâs a telling moment reallyâŠand everyone sees it.
Itâs wild that Zeos made the spot on the net that I enjoy the mostâŠright here.
The only channel I watched reqularly in 2016 ish was Z so, it kinda makes sense.
Heâs a salesman but he seems pretty authentic compared to most.
I feel itâs like that in life in general. Along the way, you find out who to trust, appreciate and value. Completely agree that virtual pride and ego ought to be meaningless with anyone who has even half a brain. Saying sorry might also require someone who is big enough a person to realise theyâre wrong (I had to think of some people I worked with throughout the years who lacked that particular trait).
I feel that Z is definitely authentic. He is definitely also a salesman but consistent in what he does and doesnât do.
Zeos was interesting because his peers in 2016 almost never mentioned music and came across as know it all assholes. Zeos seemed like a music lover and gear nerd who broke through and made it all viable via youtube while living in a kinda dump with Chewie (RIP )
10 years later and I cannot think of anyone who comes across as a genuine music loverâŠbesides Z.
I donât wanna watch a dude explaining why something is mid because a graph.
Imagine a review of a graphics card with no games mentioned
or a camera with no photos shown.
Thatâs what audio gear reviews without music are.
Couldnât agree more. Thatâs what irks me about a lot of reviewers. Why bother discussing gear if youâre not going to talk about what itâs ultimately meant to do (i.e. play music)? Thatâs something you and Z have in common; you actually talk about music in different (albeit complimentary IMO) ways. That and the fact that both you and he genuinely care about animals (which is something I do as well).
