Can you elaborate on the “Hold My Beer” part

My collab had Sonion and Knowles and a good DD 450

A new company basically cloned it (Martilo) which I hyped cuz bass and cheaper.

Likely going to hype Monolith.

The hold my beer is what. I’m outta the loop and know nothing but the tuning so help me out

EDIT :writing_hand:

300?

Ok drink beer :beer_mug:

Personally (the emphasis being on personally here), I wish companies would refrain from so many limited releases. It’s starting to feel like a marketing ploy aimed at instilling FOMO in people. Besides, the brass shell/body sounds like something that could be new and different (in a good way); I’d want that to be widely available as a company.

For expensive sets it’s a reflection of the market size for that bracket. There are 100-500 “Whales” in the entire World who will pay for bragging rights and not care what’s inside the shells.

That number would quadruple or more if there were objective gains beyond Whales taking pics like “Look at my new ***** next to my latte’” Gear Slutz. Benchmark bleeding edge buyers. We have none of that in this abstract art of a hobby

Below that ..way below sub 2k it is economics of business.

Large releases are often sold by other platforms and sellers who take their own cut of your profit (you can calculate that though)

If a problem develops or builds are beyond expected demand you have to offload at lower prices during sale events which recalculates your original est profits.

Not ideal business.

Either go limited builds and move off of the project lickety split or do pseudo pre orders like Thie and others do and build to order with minimal unsold in stock goods.

It impacts short term profit but it can be a better long run play and keep certain sets “popular” longer which can end up being quite profitable anyway

I know and do understand that limited sets will touch on people’s fomo and generate hype or whatever but I feel it might leave a bad taste in the mouths of all of us in the hobby if done repeatedly…. ( This is about a brand that hopes to have sets for regular production, not those botique brands that only do limited sets) Also…. I still don’t know any possible reason as to not share what are the internals of a set…. (Esp from a new and upcoming brand)… No shade to Crin, I’ve spoken to him before when I was still very very new into the hobby and he had the patience to talk to me briefly and tell me a few things about the hobby. Very nice guy. But yeah hope they don’t repeatedly just release limited sets tho…. This just my opinion… (I just wanna geek out and enjoy everything in the hobby )

Makes sense, especially where the expensive sets are concerned (I know you are well versed in the inner workings of the hobby/industry). I’d prefer the Thie approach in that it avoids (hopefully) the sentiment Chaos Ryuu is describing.

Brass shelled iem is definitely not unique here its been done before.

This has brass for example.

True, I think that Final has also done something with brass. I don’t think it has always been done successfully though (could be wrong of course).

Auto translated review?

There is none.

I’m never going to rec a set over another if it is tuned similar and one shares the drivers and another does not.

If drivers don’t matter then costs dont matter and it’s all margin maximizing.

Your not shading Crin. He’s a business man and he gets the same scrutiny as any other Chifi brand.

Anyone who gives him any passes is fucking up the hobby

Stuff under 300 is where that game belongs.

The folks who soak customers with trust us are …just hustlers.

I sold my Subtonic and PMG because I’m not into psy op bullshiy.

I’m an adult, I pay money.

You sell what?

Oh it’s a secret social experiment?

foh-roll

Two takeaways here: 1) translating has a long way to go software wise and 2) somehow that is better than most Headphonus Supremus reviews on HeadFi

PS Just remembered they did this one as well:

Have no idea what it sounds like but the whole idea is so delightfully different in my opinion…

Ikko had the ol’ OH7 in brass as well, IIRC.

Yeah, sorry brother. I didn’t mean like he was going to dump on your HBB Punch, I meant it like he’s going to come in with his own iteration that’s similar.

By far, though, I think this is one of his funnest tunings and it’s like a page straight outta your book.

If it’s at $300, his wife(?) had mentioned sub $500 but didn’t exactly how much lower. $300 would be pretty killer.

How much Roast Beef is too much?

That much😂

The second one is hilarious, with the heap of beef (c) on one side and the bread, tomatoes and cheese on the other. No ‘Where’s the beef?’ here
