Beyerdynamic dt990 pro amp and dac stack

significant difference… he400i is more aggressively intimate and more neutral… sundaras are relaxed and extremely airy… personally I would hands down take sundara but I have a mental bias towards brighter headphones as thats my own preference, hey least I admit it lol, still… both are nice. For your music though… I think you will find more enjoyment from the sundara

thats a hybrid right? gonna say planars don’t like tube amps usually less its hybrid… lol

Guess I will watch that review

I’ve decided and settled on the ta-10r. Now all i need is to purchase it down the road near my birthday so that it arrives on time. Do any of y’all know if there are deals on these types of things for holidays like my birthday the 4th of July? I will definitely keep the sundaras on my radar and also i know this is more of a newbie question but how does one distinguish bass treble and mids?

It’s a hybrid. And for the price has quite a bit of power 1,300 mw into 32 ohms. I believe the liquid spark has more and is also very warm so either are a good choice.

Congrats, great amp for everything.

1300mW RMS into a 50 ohm load for spark according to the specs so yeah Id say spark is stronger lol. Still though, that definitely don’t look that bad for a hybrid tube… wonder how it compares to vali

I’d be interested also the vali I believe is in the next price category above it. I think as a budget amp its coming down to either the liquid spark or MT602

Hey i thought i would let you know that i decided to purchase a schiit asgard 3 and modi 3 plus. Now all i need is a pair of sundaras. How well do you think the schiit stack will pair with my 990s?

The 990’s I’m sure will be driven perfectly.

I’m pretty vocal about tubes running high impedance headphones best

Do you know where i can get a black volume knob for my asgard 3 so that i can replace the one that it comes with. This is purely for cosmetics.

Sorry man hopefully someone else can help on that one

Ok no problem.

Yep once you hear some excellent tubes solid state definitely get a huge run for its money

yeah but excellent tubes comes with a pretty good cost in my opinion. The actual good ones are pretty expensive and then you know theres the potential addiction of tube rolling.

First one’s free baby…

Yes there is a cost for tubes.

Svetlana tubes, The poor man’s mullard tube $30-$50 can be a great budget option

Darkvoices and little dots are excellent budget options

Tubes need to be changed once a year.

The results are incredible there’s nothing that produces layering and imaging like a tube amp. Definitely worth looking into with all the gaming reviews. DT 880 600ohm on an OTL amp and it’s cheating.

eh bit too wet for my tastes in tube amps but yeah, for budget not bad at all. Though I found I liked some of xduoo too

With the right tubes it’s not wet

Svetlana 6AS7 with a reflector 6SN7 super cheap combo extremely neutral.

The actual amp itself is just a power conditioner. It’s the tubes that determine how wet or neutral or dry the amp sounds.

They’re all Hybrids except for the TA-26. Which I’m excited to hear. I do like the 12AU7 most of them use which is great for tube rolling.

I love my TA-30 I use it for all planars and anything low impedance

why do you need such an expensive stack for those headphones ? when you can use a meizu dongle and a schiite magni 3+ unless you plan on getting super expensive headphones down the road?
