That’s funny, one of the things I like using it for the most is when I’m in the mood to rock out to some of my favorite old school punk albums from the late 70s and the 80s. The N3s are the perfect IEMs for the purpose. It’s good to know someone else has found this way to show some love to their favorite “low fi” recordings.
I’ve have other sets but, my two favorites for the old lo-fi recordings mostly of punk, thrash and reggae through the mid 80s are the N3 and Kai. It’s easy to dismiss both when you’re listening to a quality recording and want all the details but, it’s almost headache inducing and distracting on a resolving set. Albums with a little more emphasis on quality, call it midfi, I turn to the XENNS UP. Usually more focused on the punk scene of the early to mid 90s.
