Canuck Audioholics Anonymous CAA Reviews & Fun Banter

CCA Polaris $17

I liked this one alot, needs a bit of polish to make sound about more tonally correct but a big step in the right direction once again.

 fast slamming Bass
 Highs are crisp but not overpowering and siblance
 Clean , Clear Vocals
 Price to Performance
 Tuning Card in the box you don’t to hunt the web to find the info
 Venting works no Driver Flex or pressure build up

 A bit too mid forward for my tastes
 Sub Bass could have a bot more extension
 Air And Stage wishing for the Painist Level of details
 Tuning card could be worded better
 A. It more warmth to give male vocals abit more weight same as instruments like Cello and Piano.

New Black Warrior Cable from Hakugei looking baller.

I have problems with the other fabric cables from them with high failure rates but this one looks solid.

Galileo review . A chill well tuned mid-centric set

 Nice build and quality
 Great Tonality and Timbre
 Perfect choice with the Sonion 2300 series Balanced Armature Driver
 Bass has nice texture
 Mids are slightly warm and lush
 Enough sparkly highs to satisfy without siblance or harnesses
 Good Job Timmy!
 Well Priced

 Not for treble heads
:sob: Not for bass heads
:scream: Not for people looking for micro neuances and detail seekers

The Galileo is my preferred gaming IEM. Things sound natural, but neither the treble or bass take over, and the imaging is very good.

The Galileo should be an absolute home run for library and my preferences but I ended up skipping and for the life of me I can’t explain why I don’t feel like I’m missing out on much. The P1 Max  takes care of my laid back, mid focused needs at $100 more than I can explain. But I’m glad these are working well for you brother, thanks for the review :handshake:

If you had them you’d probably like the vocals but they don’t do anything to stand out in your collection.

They have very good vocals and good imaging. Everything else is…meh

With the lack of bass and treble, they weren’t very engaging to me.

They’re really comfortable though. I would’ve kept them as my bedside IEM if they were lower profile. I need bedside IEMs to be small enough to “disappear” into my ears if I happen to fall asleep with them in-ear.

That’s what I figured. The Pandas have that little bit of special sauce that I enjoy so much, justifying their existence in my collection :handshake:

The new NEO1 cable reminded me of IKKO OH10 level of shit build looks and feels very cheap. I have no idea how much it is but it better be sub $50

I got the Galileo and P1 Max on the same week. I agree the Pandas have some magic to them, and I felt bad for being so late to the party.

Speaking of late to the party, anyone who likes bass should own a pair of the KBear Rosefinch.

Panda and Rosefinch are my two babies, so I’m glad you get the magic. Late to the party or not

What would happen on some wild night - The PENON Turbo got together :heart::heart: with The ISN Neo5 and had a love child?

Penon Dome would be the love child! Yes sir that’s what you would get.

Very well done highs even with 6-7k siblance dip from Neo5

Smooth lush vocals of Turbo
Mids to die for.

Dynamic Driver Organic Bass of Neo5 just with less mid bass , faster than the Neo5 but less quantity and no bass bleed because of the slightly scooped out Lower Bass.

Probably a even more natural sounding tonality than Turbo and Neo5

The Dome is going to hit the market with slightly different PENON Tuning that what I have heard before while keeping the house sound.

The Mommy Turbo is the more energetic Detail beast with almost DD like bass and micro details in spades. Best for female vocals and BA/DD bass DNA

The Daddy Neo5 is the Barratone thicker warmer bass beast that likes to be spanked.
Best for bassheads and male vocal lovers that dont mind a bit of colored bass bleed.

The Baby Dome is the well behaved child with well done organic full spectrum and a well controlled bass that hits between the two , probably the nicest most organic vocals in both male and female out of the 3.

This puts the Dome in its own space and reserves it’s place in the PENON/ISN world.

Stay tuned for full review and some observations with sources and tips for they played a huge part in theese initial impressions.

T4, or ea1000 comparison/competition?!

T4 is more of a all rounder the EA1000 still too much treble energy unless you also buy the tuning kit and knock down some of thoose highs.

My $200 T4

what is that snazzy cable? :eyes:

Which one ? I will share link

Don’t understand how the Dome sounds so much more bassheavy compared to the Globe. On graphs they look the other way round. Not graphed on same coupler tho…
