Who doesn’t like playing with LEGO
Love Lego too but that’s Meccano lol
Pretty cool idea to have the faceplate change both the look and the crossover config.
Kinda similar to the Nicehck NX7 MK2 (iirc) although that one was pure cosmetic with the removable faceplate (you could easily mod the DD inside it with the faceplate removed though).
They are coming out with a DIY kit and more xover tunings so this realse actually has some usability outside the box and after the inital sale. I thought that was interesting. Lets see how long the support for this one lasts?
Maybe more in the series and you can use the same faceplates probably not if your changing or adding drivers?
Assuming they are using the same shell and layout, they should be able to reuse this system in more iems.
Tbf, I cant really say this is more than just a marketing gimmick as the most drastic you can likely do here is adjust the driver setup (and who wants to pay for X drivers and only use X-Y.)
Okay, but trying to hold the tuning faceplate on with a single screw at the edge of the faceplate is perhaps a flawed idea from an engineering perspective.
This is what I call a detailed review.
Excellent review!
Thanks so much
TRN QC Strikes again
If you asked Larry Fulton from 7HZ, that’s acceptable within the ±3 or 4 db industry standard.
It’s simple: I see a Geshelli DAC, and I hit like. The Hiby device on the right looks like two stacked units. Is one a DAC and the other an amp? Can they be used separately? Got any early thoughts on how it sounds?
The Hiby FD5 is a discreet power supply and Dac/ Amp stack
Very clean AKM4493 has Hiby’s house sound of a little mid forward and sparkley clean highs.
Not much colorization very neutral sounding overall.
Need more time but its powerful thats for sure.
I cant hear a difference between class A and AB amps , none at all.
Ha Ha I remember, I was lucky I was working at A&B Sound in Downtown Vancouver and could get acess to all the music!
We also needed a good double cassette deck to make our own tapes.
uuh! What are the first thoughts about the new Hiby?
Posting today ,classic Hiby sound Neutral Bright, shit tonnes of power, and zero complaints. For $429, I think it competes quite well.
