Maybe the perfect IEM stand for the AB?..

Anyone who wants can read short audio impressions about this “ugly” IEM here:

After A/B testing, the Majestic monster is unbeaten. But Alien almost crushes Glacier.

Majestic is a beast of resolution and technical performance - a huge sonic presentation, but Alien is a guilty pleasure if you listen to your music library in a shuffle - a master of everything. DUNU is far behind!

Your enthusiasm for the Shanling has made me curious. Will see if I can give it a listen!

Also had a listen to Alienbrain today, it´s really decent, good allrounder, i prefered Clara from their lineup though. As the name suggests it´s more clarity focused.
Alien Brain is more of a guilty pleassure on a high level and it looks a lot better in real life.

Decent sound quality, good for walking.

Good work!

What specifically about Clara’s clarity stood out to you more? Definitely curious how they compare in different genres!

Sorry but i can not really go into detail as i demoed both of them during the High End fair in munich and that’s just some quick impressions.
Clara is a more direct listen, more “audiophile” and better suited for vocals and acoustic and Alienbrain is a jack of all trades leaning towards fun.
They are both pretty engaging just in different ways.
Alien brain is easy to like, even kinda blind buy territory if you are looking for a good allrounder.

Now comes the heavy artillery - the bass hits directly in the chest - fast and punchy with a unique amount of midbass, the sounds are scattered everywhere without any congestion and overlapping of the instruments. The tone and texture of the guitars - 10/10. But… with the right source and eartips.
If you go to a demonstration, bring a good source and 50+ eartips, otherwise you will not hear anything. The resolution is better than Glacier, that says a lot.
I don’t believe you’ve ever heard such impactful drums and double pedals at any price. :exploding_head:

MMK3 makes one major mistake, like most Chinese tuning IEMs - they suppress the lower mids a lot, which is not good for many libraries. I have never heard such a thunderous and wonderful drum section as in the Alien Brain. And one more thing - the bass of the AB is miles ahead of the MMK3 AB is better!
