From my humble experience in the audio world, I think the DTE 900 can easily compete with IEMs in the $2,000 price range in terms of technicality.

from me, sorry Penon.
I’m actually very happy with Penon’s after sales service. FedEx lost my DTE900 and after Penon investigated, they immediately sent me another one. The entire time, email communication with Penon was excellent.
SR is not a Penon company as far as I know.
Most guys hate Penon for some reason, but they hate most other companies, like Campfire for example.
Reasons why I detest Penon…
#1 Their covey of shills on Head-Fi that hype to death everything Penon make.
#2 They censor and or remove any honest reviews from legitimate independent reviewers that don’t give them at least three and a half stars
#3 And this’s a biggy, they stock and sell IMR products 
#4 BS marketing…They give the shill covey hoes new products to hype the fuck out of, wait a week or two then offer the general masses a 10% “VIP” discount code. So basically you’re buying blind or at best influenced by paid reviewers

So yeah I wouldn’t piss on Penon if they were on fire.
Do I hate CF?..Nah not at all I have a couple of their older sets. But I do think in todays market they’re way over priced, being assembled in the good old US of A and charging a premium is only worth it if you’re being somewhat patriotic I guess 
I had not heard of IMR so did a quick Google search. Oh boyyyyy, that is one giant fraud of a ‘company’. That alone should be enough to not buy from Penon IMO.
I’ve known all this for a long time. I’m just saying my experience with Penon and it wasn’t bad.
Otherwise, if we’re talking about reviewers, I personally don’t trust 99% of them, regardless of whether they’re related to Penon, Linsoul, Shenzhen, etc.
