I’ve yet to find tips that work for me. I’ve tried silicon, foam, different sizes, every brand I can think of. I’m not about to spend a fortune on CIEMs but it’s getting close to that and I don’t know if that would even work.
Yep, fit is definitely an issue with iems. It’s been 4 months since I fall in this rabbit hole, and I still wonder if I install them correctly. It can depend hugely on the iem, though. I found the kbear shape really easy to handle for me. But it depends on so many factors I couldn’t do any rec for someone else.
I mix my use up during the day.
I use a pair of Philips SHP9500 with V-Moda boom mic pro, for most meetings at work. The open back headphones are nice if I need to hear noises around me, or pay attention for a delivery. Those were my default headphones, at least until I got my first comfortable IEMs ( I couldn’t get the Tin T2 to be comfortable beyond 45 minutes, not sure why ).
Current I wear a pair of KZ ZS10 Pro and by going to smaller silicone tip they were more comfy, and way cooler than the headphones. They get about 70% of my time currently, and that is driven based on my need for sound isolation and cooler temps.
No.
Just want my vote to count.
My usage of the two are simple, when I am going for long trips by myself or with the family/friends, I always have my IEMs as my main use. But when I am at home and in my room doing the usual stuff, headphones. Though for me it really depends on what mood do I have, for there are days I prefer wearing headphones and there are days I like wearing my IEMs. Overall though, IEMs for outdoor trips and headphones for home.
