People should be skeptical…most companies only care about their bottom line profit margin.
I think most companies want to give people good products at good prices. but its true, obsessive focus on the bottom line does corrupt these people.

And it obviously isn’t every company. People definitely should do their homework though. It’s becoming harder for companies to hide from their shady practices due to Social Media, hell … even this forum is proof of that.
Hifiman and the evolution of their build quality issues is a great example of that (they still need to improve more IMO). I’ll never forget the reddit r/headphones post of the Hifiman HE400I with 2 left cups, lol.

I don’t intend to hurt your feelings, but you are wrong. Some headphone need it. I have several headphones that sounded like complete dogs**t out the box. The Audioquest Nighthawks and Monoprice M560 come to mind immediately (I am sure I could think of a few more). After many, many hours of burnin, they started to sound better. It wasn’t me/my ears getting used to the sound the sound of headphone changed.
