Fostex TH900 v's DT 1770

Also true, although personally I would rather get the tr-x00 ebony or the Denon d5200 at that price range if I was looking for a more balanced biodyna sound

Well after a long think and because I would only use closed backs when my lady wants a bit of peace (we live aboard a barge but she does have a pair of momentums) i’ve decided to go the IEM route as I can’t see the point in spending £400+ on a pair of closed that won’t sound as good as my opens…so a pair of Tin p1’s will be arriving Monday :tada: lets see if they live up to the hype???

Well, curious to see if they meet your expectations. Also see what they sound like on a tube lol

Damn right i’ll tube anything lol…we’ll see how they go, if not like the Mrs said get another pair of dt770 250’s :slightly_smiling_face:

Just out of interest (way out of my pay grade ) why would you pay for a pair of Verite closed when you could have a pair of open…anyone?

If you wanted a closed headphone. That’s pretty much why. Not everyone can have an open they can use alot

Yep I guess…reckon prison sucks for the audiophile mafia lol

???

Sorry but what, I’m probably missing something

Just joshing mate…if you’ve got $2k to drop on headphones that doesn’t make a sound on outside that can’t make a sound as good as it could on the inside then you’re in the wrong house/neighbourhood? lol

This makes sense to me. I have a set of quality closed backs I bought specifically to block out the outside world/not bother the outside world.

We have 2 kids and a San Francisco area home (read: small and expensive) so sometimes an isolating wall of sound is necessary.

It is nice just to block everything out and get immersed sometimes, but you can always do that with enough volume lol

VC is better than VO without OTL tubes from what I heard.
