Has anyone tested this with a balanced cable vs single-ended?
I’m getting a slight channel imbalance on low volume, not sure if it’s just my unit.

It would help greatly if you told us which amp you’re referring to?
Edited…That being said it’s not unheard of that pots can be off at lower volumes, I’m guessing what ever transducer you’re trying to drive is quite sensitive?, if so use the low gain switch if it has one.
I’m thinking the same as Ohmboy
. Double the gain on balanced, ergo lower volume on the volume wheel. Often a problem with ifi for example. (Analogue volume control).
I am also curious about the amp you actually are using
