The 660’s are nice, but the Elex’s are a league above.

Yeah, in due time.
I have to say that a big thing in favor of all these Senns is comfort. I often wear cans all day and Senns make that the easiest to do by far
I have both and if I am sitting still at my desk, it is the 600s all the way, but with my DAP, the 150ohm 660s become portable and sound great. A little more in your face than the 600s but not by a lot, and the bass is a little better.
My 660s finally came. Honestly I would have gone for either that or the 600 depending on what the Gods of Ebay had in store for me. I just missed out on a 600 for $200, and then watched as they all climbed above $250. Then I saw a 660s…and scored it for $260.
I like them very much. I’m sure that if I still had my 600s and A/Bd I might find fault with the 660s or rationalize the difference, and to me it’s super obvious that the 660s at MSRP is a non-starter.
They sound great. Have plenty of bass, but they don’t have that thick sound that made me prefer the 600s over the 650s back when I had both. It was fun for pop but not good for classical. These are fine. And vocals sound amazing. Great imaging. And oh how I missed Sennheiser comfort! These are cans one can wear all day. And I will.
