I think what I’m looking for after doing more research is closed back. Which rules out the Sundara’s (and a lot of other choices as well) unfortunately. According to the thread on head-fi the closed-back version will not be out until Oct-Nov so that might be worth waiting for. I will have to do some looking into the Meze 99, thanks for that recommendation.
I have been interested in the Focal Elegia since they are $400 US on Adorama at the moment. I think I am also after comfort so that rules out the Neumann’s.
Might just have to sit back and watch the used market for a bit, see what else I can find. But in that case I’m worried about manufacturers warranty, which is why I’ve ruled out the Focal Elex (plus they’re open back).
The problem with being Canadian is that audio gear is so damn expensive to import into this country, it’s very sad.
