IEM discussion thread (Part 2)

Dont like it? iirc if i traveled a lot via air i would probably use anc quite a lot.

I do use anc from time to time.

As an addendum, my dongle dac is the ikko Zerda

Specs:

  • Decoding rate: 32-bit / 384 kHz (PCM), Dop128 (DSD)

  • Output level: 2V at 32 ohms

  • Frequency response: 20 Hz – 40 kHz

  • SNR:118 dB

  • Output impedance: <0.8 ohm

Also, I should say my budget for the IEMs is anywhere up to $250.

It would be difficult for me to want to spend more than that on something I only use for 3 hours a month.

My cans when I’m not traveling are the Sennheiser HD 620s powered by geshelli/topping A90D combo; or, when I’m stationary but away from home, the Harmonicdyne Eris powered by either the FIIO K11 R2R or the topping DX3pro+ .

I tend to like bullets on plane because they are super comfy, I have Intime Sora light for example.

I have yet to find such IEM, but I thought it was fit/shape that was the issue? Its great that they develop the ergonomics of IEMs.

I thought it said ā€˜Harriet’. Which legit would have been a cool name I feel.

Interesting choice of company for Mark to do his first collab on. That is strange… Best of luck to him, I hope it does well on the market. I’m sure it will. I’ll be skipping it for sure - knowing his preferences and how allergic he is to low end these won’t be for me.

A bit curious about why they are using ā€œsquiglinkā€ rather than ā€œSuper Reviews". I guess squiglink is more well known now since everyone uses squig now.

Linsoul really chugging them out under the Juzear brand. Seems to be the go to for the ā€œcollabā€ market.

*edit. Juzear isn’t Linsoul. I’m thinking of Ziigaat. Probably. I’m old. Humour me.

Ties with Hifigo made licensing the SuperReviews name to Linsoul problematic? I assume Crinacle ties with Shenzhen Audio is why there was a Hangout Juzear collab rather than using the Crinacle brand. I’m very cynical about this stuff though. Too many undisclosed contracts between retailers/manufacturers and YTers. The line between reviewer and influencer/promoter is very blurry.

It’s a hifigo brand. Makes sense, since all the ads on squig are from hifigo.

You might be right. I was thinking of Ziigaat which is Linsoul. Punch Audio is also one of their new ones. I lose track of who owns what.

Juzear seems more complicated. Seems they were originally Junear. Links to Myer Audio but don’t know exactly what. Myer had historically produced for other companies before becoming a brand in their own right. Hifigo seems to have some exclusivity.

Similar thing with Aful. I know someone who got an Aful set prior to the Performer series. They were a Chinese company apparently focused on the Japanese market. Then they seemed to hook up with Hifigo.

question then is if that 149 usd price is msrp or its a sale price from 11/11 and temporary.

Good one. You’d think, based on the release date, that it’ll be temporary.

$149 for a planar is attractive.
