Awesome! Really want to try this one out!
People that have more knowledge and more experienced than me in this hobby, I need your help. Right now I am experiencing something a bit weird on my Yu9 Que, and that would be that every time I insert the left piece in my ears, I experience a bit of a suction feel and it wasnāt there back then. As for the right piece, it does not have it at all and I always keep my IEMs clean before and after every use and I donāt know what to do.
Is this the reason why? It might be the filters or something for it seems to be one of the possible reasons why I experience that slight suction feel on the left side, and that happened to me with my Tanchjim Bunny as well, for I have replaced the filters of it and the suction feel is gone. I am not sure what filters should I replace it with and hell, I even keep this set dry with a dry box with a lot of silica gel inside. Any help and suggestions would be appreciated guys.
The Knowles damper in your pic seems a bit dull and darker brown vs other pictures online. My guess is that it belongs to the BA part of the drivers. I donāt know Que and itās inner workings, but normally that bore wonāt be part of any ventilation system on the monitor. Hopefully someone with these can indicate how well theirs seal and what feeling they give in ears.
Is the damper the same on both sides? Could be dirt/wax getting stuck on it and not just moisture.
As for why it can happen on one side but not both, it could be because our ears are not identical.

If you want to replace the brown filter the closest would be the white 680ohm one.
If that is actually the knowles version then here.

Thanks man really appreciate it. And by replacing it how do I do it? I know itās gonna involve a tool like the tweezers for it but I am not sure if I am gonna remove the whole tube with the filters on or just remove the filter from the tube? I am kinda intimidated on doing it to my Ques since I bought this set last year before New Year and it was really expensive.
You may want to get this tool.

If that damper is just sitting there it should work.
You pull out the damper Ā«housingĀ» with the colored damping material inside. Make a note of how deep the damper is mounted. On other pictures online it looks like itās the orange damper? I would change to the same color as you want the the same sound. The Ali tool is a bit more difficult to use vs for example this Custom Art tool:
A better tool makes the job easier, but it is for sure more expensiveā![]()
Edit: changed my mind on the damper colorā
. Not sure which it actually isā![]()
I think this seems to be the brown 1000ohm version. But otherwise the dampers are cheap enough that i would just buy one or a few pairs of each, it can be useful elsewhere. Depending on the lighting it may also look like the 3300ohm versionā¦
Might as well give it a shot and if it does changes the sound on the left side, might as well do the same on the right side as well lol.
It WILL change the sound 100% IF they are different. Look at the other one and see if the color is the same.
Please note that the Yu9 Que has a damper installed in the opposite direction, first remove the fabric damper with a needle and then pull out the iron damper itself to avoid the fabric itself sinking into the channel.
Hmmm thanks for sharing this, and right now I ordered the Knowles damper tool along with the new Knowles filters for the Ques. Wish me luck people, hope this one works.
Does anyone know of an IEM in the Kiwi Ears Cadenza/Tin C1 budget thatās actually good at female vocals and cymbals or is this something where Iām just going to need to spring for a planar?
Iāve still never found an IEM that can really convince me to spend any more than this, but all of these 1DD sets seem to focus all their efforts on mellowing out all of your music, and I just donāt listen to music like that. I canāt not pay attention to details.
You want an earbud/flathead if you want vocals. Check out the Qian39 or Yincrow X6.
Couldnāt get past Aliexpress side-eyeing me, so I go the Moondrop Nice Buds from Linsoul. Havenāt tried earbuds in 20 years, so this should be interesting. I also got a handful of different foam tips to play with the sound signature. Iāve just never been able to get any kind of consistency out of IEMs no matter how many types of tips I try.
I found the Pandamon 2.0 to do a really good job at dynamics and treble quality. Granted itās not a 1DD but a square planar, the music quality is superior because 1DD iems tend to sacrifice the treble because of they are over dampened.
The MSRP is higher, however it is often on sale.
I really wanted to give the flatheads a chance but the overall comfort and fit that I get from them is just not ideal for, therefore not on my list really to try or to get. If only some flatheads can fix those problems when it comes to the fit, it would have been a game changer for me, for I really wanted to try a set.
What problems in particular? There are different shapes just as there are in IEMs that some people find more comfortable than others.
Some just slides off from my ears and I really want of those sets to work.
My 2 pence worth, I always thought my external ear anatomy was too small to get a good secure fit when it came to most FHās, Iād tried silicon wings and different foams etc. My last chance was totally going against what I thought the problem was but what the heck. I ordered some NICEHCK silicone rings and bingo sets stayed in place, I now use them with most of my sets so maybe worth a cheap try?.
