Imo I prefer the original mono version, the stereo version was pretty meh, especially the special mono vinyl reissue that was pretty good
King Crimson is one of the best Progressive Rock bands ever. 21st century schizoid man is a timeless masterpiece. Good stuff.
My aunt let me pick through my uncles CD collection, (he past 5 years ago). Found this in a various artist CD. Didnt know there was two versions of the song.
Indeed. I just recently started listening to them. One of my favorite philosophers did a lecture at a college and used the lyrics from that song to demonstrate a point, and that’s how I found the band. I won’t get into the details of his lecture or anything though, it would lead to arguments over politics and religion and worldviews not to waste time over on an audio forum.
From a musical standpoint too though they really did a lot of interesting things with their rhythms and instruments, combining many different styles into something quite special.

I miss everything that made old school hip hop great. Modern hip hop can’t ever compete with the old school legends. Love the guitar riffs from Eddie Martinez as well.
This reminds me of when I was obsessed with finding an old boombox a couple months ago. This is the kind of music you would hear being played on them. They are collector’s items though, and sadly as a result are out of my range of affordability.
Tonight’s Platina Jazz night. Enjoying a beer and enjoying a week off!
SMSL SU-8 > SMSL SP200 > Moondrop Starfield (man these things are great for jazz!)
That’s harman tuning for you. I find jazz to be its best match, something about harman that makes it sound so real and lifelike.
Definitely one of his best works. I remember a while ago when I used to take piano lessons I was able to play the melody from the Largo ‘Going Home’ excerpt.
