I watched this quite a while ago and it stays in my YouTube feed and shows up every so often. I have no urge to buy his music, but I can’t stop watching the video. YMMV of course. 
Thought this playlist might be a bit appropriate during these times.

I’ve listened to the ‘new’ tracks on this album a handful of times now. This song sounds to me like ‘heavy metal Flaming Lips’ - do you get that impression at all?

Obviously don’t have that catalog memorized yet. 
It’s on the soft bulletin which is imo the perfect place to start with the intimidating flaming lips discography 
I started listening through them about 3 years ago I think. I forget where I left off. I know I thought Yoshimi was a standout effort. Always enjoyed their work, love their greatest hits collection. Reminds me, I’m listening to their newest release right now so I should post that:
