I noticed Pearl Jams MTV unplugged performance was available on spotify ( Spotify ), i’ve been looking for a CD or other digital formats without finding it available before now… so i headed over to hdtracks, and found the album there… I think it was available on vinyl before, but since i have not opened that can of worms yet…

Toshiba DVD player > FiiO K5 Pro > Koss KTXPRO1

I’ve listened to 1812 wat too many times, played it in my high school orchestra years ago as well.

Good recording with good cannons. They shook my headphones silly but I can part with the KTXPRO1 as terrible as its build quality and ergonomics is. It just really shines with full orchestra pieces like this. Those 60 ohm drivers don’t break a sweat even at 4 o’clock on low gain.

Yes, it just popped up on iTunes last week as a “new” album.

On my my first CDs was the 1980s Telarc recording. It came with a warning sticker about the cannons on the sleeve. I’ve still got it.

An old mayor of the city I live in had a collection of civil war weapons which included cannons. On the 4th of July the local philharmonic does a rendition of the 1812 overture, with those cannons. Let me tell you, it’s insane that from a 1/8 mile away you can feel their thump in your gut when they go off. It’s a lot of fun.

I really only know this one album of theirs well but Infected Mushrooms Head of NASA and the 2 Amish Boys -> Bliss on Mushrooms

Don’t really like the non melodic stuff but this album is great.
