So I’m sure this is a bit old hat by now, but this album just opened up a whole new genre of music for me. Seriously, listen to atleats 5 min. Its pretty fucking incredibly put together with a huge genre variety within it while still being cohesive

Tonight as the great Saturn/Jupiter conjunction takes place is a perfect time to listen to Tool’s Lateralus album, especially The Grudge track.

Saturn comes back around. Lifts you up like a child
Or drags you down like a stone to
Consume you till you choose to let this go.
Choose to let this go.

Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions happen every 20 years; the last one was in the year 2000. But these conjunctions aren’t all created equal. The 2020 great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn will be the closest since 1623 and the closest observable since 1226! 2020’s extra-close Jupiter-Saturn conjunction won’t be matched again until the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction of March 15, 2080.

I really dig the track The King Will Come. Great guitar intro and riff.

Admittedly a hidden gem for me but glad I found it. Proto to a lot of the modern epic heavy metal stuff I’m into.

And the cover art makes me think of Darth Vader with a red cape

The Pacific Northwest (USA) is often more recognized for Rock & Grunge, with many heavy hitters coming out from there. But, there are also some pretty cool “Electronic” artists too. One example, “Chromatics” originally from Portland Oregon.

It’s my lunch hour, time for a chill music break
