Today I have been listening to a wide range of stuff. then I went in the office to do our taxes for last year. I recently bought an issue of Jazzwise magazine (March). It is very expensive here because it is a British magazine. Great guide for following music happenings in the UK. Best part is that it had a CD attached of different bands. Nice mixture from a European label.
I noticed this company when I was browsing my Google newsfeed and an article showed up about a special edition that they put out called, The 100 Jazz albums that shook the world. I went looking for that, but it is not here yet, if it is even coming across the pond.

Original Son - Currents
This album released at the beginning of the year but vinyl copies just shipped out. I’d managed to not listen to it until it arrived today. Fantastic rock and roll album.

Boy, how many times have I heard this song? Including in the grocery store. Including the video doc where they highlight the making of this song. Never better than this though.
Lots of small details that never revealed this well.
Bifrost 2 is new for me, and I’m just trying to live in it and enjoy it rather than trying to A/B it.
First listening with it was through speakers and GoGo Penguin v2.0 which sounded amazing today. A lot of texture and background to it, really impressed me and I wasn’t necessarily expecting it.

Wow. I had two tracks on my iPod in the mid 2000s by LOW… I found tonight by digging that they were Monkey and California from The Great Destroyer. I have no idea why I had those or had heard of LOW at all at that time. I’d fully forgotten the tracks.
I recognized the male/female dual vocals on something that got played to me today, and went down memory lane. They’re still making music, and it’s drastically different while still sounding very much like them.
This track took me off guard. I love it. What a wall.
