45 years new
Friday Friday! Weird day in the saddle, man. Got rained on riding in and cooked goin home! But thatâs the life, eh? The FA took it in stride. An amazing steely-eyed missile machine, she is! Yeah, there was work in there somewhere, but fuck that! Itâs over now, and Iâm chuggin a Gatorade before I open up an adult beverage. And into the collection I go, starting out strong with the box set! Itâs Flying Colors and âThird Degreeâ.
The album was named one of the 50 best rock albums of 2019.
Sonic Perspectives called the album âa mature, consistent third album which is melodically strong and diverse.â and added âThis makes for one of the best rock/pop/prog bands of the decade, and is a big colorful feather in the cap of its illustrious members.â AND what do I think? Umm⊠yeeeah, what he said!
Enjoy the night, good peeps.
Some great food and family time. And now, port in hand, Iâm into the collection again. I suddenly felt the need to hear Mozartâs 35th.
The image says 25 and 29, but that is disc 1. âHaffnerâ is on Disc 2. I love this CD set. I mean, itâs Bernstein and the Vienna Philharmonic. 'Nuff said.
For all my liquid DnB loversâŠI bet you wonât be disappointed. Tuned my Z1R Subass all the the way up, its
Agreed. Iâm gonna watch this later tonight. Maybe itâs just me, but the kit looks different. I think he tweeked it a little.
Into the night we go. Got a great one going. This is Barock Project and âDetachmentâ 2021 Remastered version.
Such a good record. The Horizon/DA-9 duo is delivering an amazing listening experience. Some of these pieces are pretty complex, and the resolution and detail are breathtaking. These guys can flat out play.
I always look forward to the Saturday night sessions. They always tend to be more spirited and adventurous. Example, this is Pattern-Seeking Animals and âOnly Passing Throughâ.
Iâm rockin the HE1000 tonight. Much pleasure ensuesâŠ
Yes, a dive into unfamiliar territory! This is Cosmograf and âThe Man Left in Spaceâ.
This is a cool vibe and a surreal journey. To Quote Progarchy:
âThe Man Left In Space would not be the success it is without having superb music to complement its message. Every track is extraordinary, and the album really must be listened to in its entirety. Highlights include âAspire, Achieveâ, which begins with a delicate acoustic guitar melody and vocal harmonies that shift into crunching metal worthy of Ayreonâs best work. âBeautiful Treadmillâ has an indelible hook that will have you singing along in no time. The instrumental, âThe Vacuum That I Fly Throughâ, featuring the marvelous Matt Stevens on guitar and Big Big Trainâs Nick DâVirgilio and Greg Spawton on drums and bass respectively, rivals anything Pink Floyd ever committed to tape. Trust me, itâs that good.â
Great discovery.
Spent most of the day fixing someone elseâs problem and after fixing it I got hit with the âYou shouldnât swear so muchâ.
Guess Iâll be blasting this all night:
The end of another crazy week. Riding in on Friday the13th during a full moon was interesting, but I did just fine! My Gremlin Bell kept me out of harmâs way, as it always does. And now I am home and session, a damn fine place to be. Starting out with an intriguing one. I always have fun with this group. Hereâs The Flower Kings and âFlower Powerâ.
Enjoy the evening.
