Friday Friday! Weird day in the saddle, man. Got rained on riding in and cooked goin home! But that’s the life, eh? The FA took it in stride. An amazing steely-eyed missile machine, she is! Yeah, there was work in there somewhere, but fuck that! It’s over now, and I’m chuggin a Gatorade before I open up an adult beverage. And into the collection I go, starting out strong with the box set! It’s Flying Colors and “Third Degree”.

The album was named one of the 50 best rock albums of 2019.

Sonic Perspectives called the album “a mature, consistent third album which is melodically strong and diverse.” and added “This makes for one of the best rock/pop/prog bands of the decade, and is a big colorful feather in the cap of its illustrious members.” AND what do I think? Umm… yeeeah, what he said!

Enjoy the night, good peeps. :notes: :sunglasses:

Some great food and family time. And now, port in hand, I’m into the collection again. I suddenly felt the need to hear Mozart’s 35th.

The image says 25 and 29, but that is disc 1. “Haffner” is on Disc 2. I love this CD set. I mean, it’s Bernstein and the Vienna Philharmonic. 'Nuff said.

Into the night we go. Got a great one going. This is Barock Project and “Detachment” 2021 Remastered version.

Such a good record. The Horizon/DA-9 duo is delivering an amazing listening experience. Some of these pieces are pretty complex, and the resolution and detail are breathtaking. These guys can flat out play.

I always look forward to the Saturday night sessions. They always tend to be more spirited and adventurous. Example, this is Pattern-Seeking Animals and “Only Passing Through”.

I’m rockin the HE1000 tonight. Much pleasure ensues… :sunglasses: :headphones:

Yes, a dive into unfamiliar territory! This is Cosmograf and “The Man Left in Space”.

This is a cool vibe and a surreal journey. To Quote Progarchy:

“The Man Left In Space would not be the success it is without having superb music to complement its message. Every track is extraordinary, and the album really must be listened to in its entirety. Highlights include “Aspire, Achieve”, which begins with a delicate acoustic guitar melody and vocal harmonies that shift into crunching metal worthy of Ayreon’s best work. “Beautiful Treadmill” has an indelible hook that will have you singing along in no time. The instrumental, “The Vacuum That I Fly Through”, featuring the marvelous Matt Stevens on guitar and Big Big Train’s Nick D’Virgilio and Greg Spawton on drums and bass respectively, rivals anything Pink Floyd ever committed to tape. Trust me, it’s that good.”

Great discovery. :notes: :first_quarter_moon_with_face:

makes for a really good equipment testing album as well

Spent most of the day fixing someone else’s problem and after fixing it I got hit with the “You shouldn’t swear so much”.

Guess I’ll be blasting this all night:
