There’s something about 90s-00s hip hop percussion. Feels like ages ago, but I saw DJ Krush in Mpls in 2007. He did all the percussion live on an MPC (as far as I could tell, I’m no expert). I was blown away. There’s something to the rocker style kicks/percussion that’s *chef’s kiss*.
He used samples from radio/tv commercials. I think it was overshadowed by Dilla’s Donuts, which is objectively great, but I liked this a lot too.

Long way from that OG '80s Sony Walkman playing homemade mixtapes to the DX340 fed by battery-powered linear power in Super Gain mode with AO Ra and one of Ducblokes tunes. He’s usually heavy on the bass for me but it simply jives with this album.

Chrome was a DJ for a minute ~10 years ago. He’s lived in his van for the past 8 years and just completed a stellar build in a Sprinter.

Actually, I discovered this one yesterday, but I was intrigued by it so I’m giving it a second spin. I like it!
I have said this before, but I will again; it is so nice to have access to such a vast collection of music. It has expanded my musical horizons in unimaginal ways and has in fact, made my life a little bit better.
See, technology and AI, when used sensibly, can be a good thing.
