I ended up pulling the trigger on the ZMF Aeolus headphones with the universe perforated pads.

The Aeolus seems to measure better with the stock pads:

Yeah i got the other pads aswell. I was recommenced them by zeos.

Zeos usually knows what he’s talking about. Except maybe the AKG K371… that was weird.

The only pads I wouldn’t reccomend for it would be the verite pads, because they’re kind of too neutral, but hey, some may like that. But the others are all definitely great.

Well, that’s a bold statement!

I watched a few of his videos and had to swallow at the following comparisons:

In his eyes a Fiio FH 7 is at least at the level of a CA Andromeda,
in his opinion a BLON-BL03 sounds better than a Sennheiser HD800S,
a Tin Hifi T2 is the only in-ear you need to be happy,
a BLON B20 competes with significantly more expensive magnetostats,
an AKG that is super good on the one hand and not good on the other hand, etc.

That is good marketing, but not really realistic,
especially I have most of the cans at home and I can get an idea of them myself and believe me: Not everything at Zeos should be taken 100% seriously and your purchase decision based on it,
because much is a matter of personal taste.
Other than that, blind trust could become really expensive in the long run :wink:

I said usually, not always. That means that he makes a lot of statements that may not be true or very good. Usually is not quite almost always either. All I am saying is that I haven’t been disappointed by very much he has reviewed and described. I use his reviews as suggestions.
And you also have to remember there is a certain amount of subjectivity in this hobby. What one person likes and does not like may be very different from you, and their ears may or may not hear similarly.

Tbh I kinda aggree with the blon statement except for gaming. I didn’t really enjoy my limited experience with the 800

It seems that it is one of those headphones where you really like it or find it just okay. It’s amazing if you like its sound.

It is your absolute right to see it that way!
I have both the HD800S and BLON BL03 as my own cans here at home and after watching this video I actually did an A to B comparison for fun and had to smile amused.
Both powered by a Questyle CMA 400i, both with symmetrical cables,
I hear a difference like day and night in clarity, tonality, spatiality, bass volume and especially in the location and allocation of the instruments and voices.
But as already mentioned, it’s all a matter of taste.

Well I mean the 800s really isn’t comparable to the blon tbh, the 800s is just better in some aspects and it’s pretty hard to deny that. If it meets your preference or not is another thing
