šŸ”¶ Mangird TEA (6 BA/1DD)

Yup, love the blon but the fit!!! Its an issue for me.
Probably go for the L2 just on that basis.
My starfields were my go to but they were gifted as they were too neutral for me.

For the recordā€¦ I just listened to the LZA7 and Mangird Tea back to back and for me there is no contest. The Tea is my preferred set. The stage sounds so much better. I feel like Iā€™m inside the music (the adjective lush comes to mind). I know this probably doesnā€™t make sense but the LZA7 sounds artificial in comparison to the Tea.

i now know the laz7 is completely different than the a6ā€¦but id agree with your statement tea vs a6 as well :+1: artificial is a good way to put

In fact, itā€™s the oppositeā€¦ Sheā€™s my reality check. Without her iā€™d be eating tuna can to buy more stuff

Since I just had both in my ears, the Tea stage feels to curve around and fill your head and little details pop out within the blackness. The LZA7 stage is a more straight line out in front of you. The music felt further away and less encompassing than on the Tea.

Iā€™ll also touch on what makes the Tea so special for me other than its stage. The Tea is a hybrid with 6 BA drivers that do not seem to have the harshness or poorer timbre of usual BAs. Everything is very detailed yet smooth and not sibilant or harsh. It really is a perfect balance.

The Blessing 2 is more neutral than the Tea but has more of an incoherent sound in contrast from its BAs to itā€™s DD. It is harsher and more shouty but probably sounds even more detailed because of it.

Iā€™d rather have the smoother presentation of the Tea with the addition of its sub bass emphasis.

Iā€™m staring at the cart with the mangird teas. Uk amazon stocks themā€¦
.

Wellā€¦ Personally, I havenā€™t been able to find a hybrid I prefer under 500. Iā€™d buy with confidence.

Get the LZA7 if you donā€™t know what frequency response you prefer and want to play with different sound signatures.

Get the Blessing 2 if you want a completely neutral FR and tons of detail that comes with the cost of some overall shoutyness. I know shoutyness is not a word but you know what I mean. lol

I hope my impressions have been helpful.

EDIT: Iā€™ve had the Teas in my ears for a while today and I actually might need to do some critical listening vs some of my tribrids because Iā€™m thinking I might prefer the Tea to many of them. It is that good.

I have 2x lz a7 (and got lucky on the 11 11 lottery where I got 1 set free and other sent by mistake)

Your sources are the topping A90 stack right?
So linear and transparent AF?

I have their little brother in the A50s,D50s stack, so coming from same point on source.

Yeah, I pulled the trigger on teas.
:rofl::grin:

YES! Thatā€™s how I know what Iā€™m hearing is the headphone or IEM Iā€™m listening to, not the DAC or amp coloration.

I actually am using the brand new D90SE that just broke all of the DAC measurement records at Audio Science Review. Not the older D90 with AKM chip implementation.

Way to go bro! I hope you enjoy them.

piezo timbre in the upper treble is probably what you are hearing, stuff like violins and cymbals.

That sounds about right and where my conclusions have been leading me.

Otherwise the timbre is very good for a hybrid (tribrid), only beaten by the Sony hybrids in timbre and coherency.

Welcome to the dark side. Now the only way is (XENNS) up :stuck_out_tongue:

Yup, compared to my other sets timbre is very good on the LZ

I know that many donā€™t like EQ but i have been playing with some settings and imo these here brought the Teas to a whole new level for my taste (i like V shaped sound as you can see), thought i share in case any of you want to give it a try.

If you do please share your thoughts.

BTW there are some unused and disabled frequencies in there, just too lazy to clear it up. Also you only need a -6 pre amp for these, i forgot the -11 from another setting i had.

Cheers

Just ordered the Tea. After hearing about from Zeos, then BGGAR, then everyone hereā€¦I just had too much curiosity. And Drop has them for $250 (down from the usual retail $330).

So Iā€™ll be comparing it to the Xenns UP as well as those doing so here.

Andā€¦Iā€™m done writing big write ups on head fi lol. Iā€™m going to be launching a YouTube channel soon. Iā€™ll link the videos to help people compare this stuff, at least with my ears and tastes, soonā€¦
