Has anyone tried to remove the mesh from the og teas?
Question!
Does has anybody tried or know if you can trim down the resin on these easily? I would like to know so I might be able to tame down or even take out the hot spots I get completely.
Its a sad day for me. Looks like the DD drivers died in the right IEM. Absolutely no bass.
Time to put up WTB adsā¦I am looking for a pair if anyone is thinking of selling.
Feel like I this happened at a good time since Iām looking to probably get the Mahina as a bigger boy version-ish of my Teas. PM me and Iāll get back to you when I can
Thanks! Dropped you a PM
Iām concerned that this is at least the third time Iāve heard of this exact issue happening.
I took a chance on these despite earlier reports of random driver failures - great to my ears while they worked but unfortunately, my set succumbed to the same fate. i am sure its not as apparent out in the world vs. the hifiguides forums.
The timing is interesting though - I just bought a set of Yanyin Moonlights last week and within hours of me receiving the Moonlights, the right DD decides to fail. My interest in the Moonlight stems from the fact that it may balanced enough to not need any EQ.
The Yanyin has similar characteristics to the Tea but MUCH better treble due to the EST. It does feel a bit ādrierā relative to the Teas but not far off. The fit is almost identical to the Teas for my ears. My experiences are in line with other reviews regarding the Moonlight. The tuning allows for it to handle all sorts of genres with ease; however, it does everything so well it almost seems kindaā¦boring. While the Teas were not perfect, it had a special holographic stage where you could hear sounds coming from every direction. In contrast, the Moonlightās stage is right in the middleā¦along the rest of the balanced narrative.
That said, I do appreciate the improvements to its technicalities over the Tea. Perhaps as time goes on, my yearning for another set of Teas may eventually subside as I settle in with the Moonlights.
Is there a hero out there who can figure out how to DIY repair the Tea? Mine needs help also.
Hi-Fri Audio said the Teaās DD is prone to failing:
Either moisture build up damages the driver dome or poor copper wiring can cause the wires to fail if too much power is drawn
Yeah I know the sample is small, but I think there have been 3 Teas with broken DDs in less than a year. Lucky that Jeffrey managed to fix a couple of them, because otherwise the owners were more or less out of luck
There are many, many more. Itās just that not everyone writes here with a broken DD on Tea!
I bought these about a year and a half ago and i love them, absolutely no issues. Well, except one thing. I really prefer headphones to IEMs, so Iāve been trying to find full over ear headphones that have similar tuning and characteristics to the Teas and was wondering if anyone here had any recommendations. Open back, closed, I donāt really care either way I just want something that sounds just as good but a bit more comfortable.
There is no .
You may want to try hd660s or other in that lineup. I personally have the teas and 660s and love both the same. The only major difference I would say is the 660s does feel lacking sub bass and bass. Then again you might want to try them first. They do better i feel like at instruments than vocals, but they are not lacking in vocals either.
After more than a year, I just noticed hat the DD in the left piece has died. No bass sound coming out from it. I might go with headphones this time.
This has happened too often for me to consider owning the Teas long-term. Scary proposition.
Welcome to HFGF sorry to hear this ā¦HP wise I think youāll need to spend quite a bit more to get the same level of replay depending on your sources, library and use case scenarioā¦unless you didnāt like Tea?
I liked the Tea Yeah, thatās what I thought too but preferably within the same price range. I still consider myself as āexploringā hence I decided to get headphones this time. I do still have spare IEMs (Mele and Aria) that I can use.
Hoping the Mangird Tea 3 is the T2ās sound with bery DD and ESTs.
Wait, is there a Tea 3 in development, or are you just spit-balling?
