Most Reference Sounding Headphone

Yeah i was thinking of upgrading to a RNHP amp and just plug my SU8 into it. kinda waiting for a good deal hoping that something better might come along. i guess im still holding out for the next great cheap amp like the THX. but if Drop put out the RNHP at a good discount or something i’ll probably grab it

So can u drive ur 5000X with rnhp amp?

I actually use that a fair bit for studio, when I do mastering I commonly use the adx5000, clear pro, and the final d8000 pro with the rnhp actually

the 500$ amp or the one resolve reviewed

I use other amps besides the rnhp, but I was saying I use the rnhp with those headphones for studio. For just regular listening though I like the adx5000 on the cayin with upgraded tubes, the d8000 pro on the niimbus, and the clear on the linear tube audio amp. But for studio I use the rnhp for most headphones

Are the STAX flagship headphones any good?

Yes, but they are an acquired taste. I personally prefer the 007mk2 out of the stax lineup

What neutral headphone would u recommend someone at under 2000$

Hmmm, what type of music would they listen to, and what amp would they have?

I guess the majority of the people, pop, jazz, rock, classical music are the main and the amp lets just go for rnhp

If you have an rnhp the focal clear is a pretty good choice in that price range for neutral

I feel like they might be to bass heavy for it to be neutral

How so? They are very linear in bass response, def wouldn’t call them bass heavy whatsoever

what if have something have a bit more power

…more powah???

Still no. If you are referring to the z review, he used it on his qes amp which is a massive mismatch amp wise. The clear is very picky about amps, and the qes amp has an output impedance of 120 ohms which is way way too high for a 55 ish ohm headphone. It will severely alter the frequency response. I will just say take z’s high end reviews with a larger grain of salt because they tend to be all over the price. Also imo he doesn’t really do the best job with dacs and amps either, especially higher end ones

This is really good advice btw.

How about planars

I will think about getting clears

Would you say resolve does a better job then since he uses better and higher end stuff
