Unfortunately, in my experience there is way too much of the above in this world. For decades I saw different groups of people, employees, contractors and management come and go using differing tools, languages, techniques to build a computational genomics discovery system(s) with ZERO documentation or even comments in code!
I was on the ‘outside’ leading the Infrastructure group and we modeled our work and practices to be the polar opposite of the genomics group
