That’s why i have NOT bothered to upgrade, no USB connection ability w/ the older Ipad and Iphone as far as i can tell🤔

Ah, well I would say just stick to what you have then (or upgrade the apple products or get a dap)

I have an xDUOo 05 but i always thought i bypassed the Dac when connecting thru my 3.5mm

Correct, you are only using analog with that then. 500 bucks could get you a pretty solid dap tbh if you wanted to go that route and not mess with upgrading the apple products

Thank you, this can wait though. You fuckers have made me interested in the SPL Phonitor XE currently and I’m on the hunt for a used red one :rage: :hugs:

I use my Samsung S10+ running poweramp as the source and my Fiio Q5s either OTG if I’m stationary or through Bluetooth with LDAC most of the time when I’m out of the house.

Im mostly iem bound when I’m mobile. Usually my obravo cupids, meze rai solo, or guideray. But here lately been putting the Jade Audio EA3 through my rotation.

Well for me it depends on which bag I’m taking out. My bigger work bag has my tin T4 & the ES100. The smaller casual bag has my galaxy buds. Any other occasion I’d just take the BTR5 + Ikko OH10 or tin P1.

I decided to go the android phone (dap) route with the q5s. I like it. I was going to get an LG phone because their dacs but I’ll use the q5s 99% of the time so I wanted a smaller phone for this setup so I picked up the s10e. Smallest android I could find with expandable storage and able to be upgraded to Android 10. I like the phone for this as a audio/media player. I’ll use it primarily for audio but I’ll watch some movies/shows/YouTube when needed. Use it with T2s on the go and some other headphones when not at my desk at home.

Very nice :ok_hand: going this route is a significant upgrade to something like a dragonfly or other dongle dacs? Again nice photos

I can’t speak for the dongle dacs like the dragon fly because I never owned one but I use my hd650s and hd800S with this q5s with no issues. Low gain at 12:00. Sounds clean to me. I have Hi-res offline tracks from qobuz and stream Hi-res and this dac/amp sounds good. Zero noise when music is silent. I’m happy. Allows me to set in the recliner and get comfy to listen vs at my desk all the time.

I like your style my friend

Haha yeah it’s relaxing time with a drink. I had the btr5 to see if it would do what I wanted and it’s close but I think the q5s is just more power! And q5s sounds a little cleaner. I run it balanced tho so that helps with power.

My “main” setup is also based around a comfortable chair. I use a more traditional stack however, but to the same end.

Nothing like sitting in a comfortable chair with your favorite tunes… :tumbler_glass:” “:tumbler_glass:

Yes sir. I gotta figure out a way to have my other amps closer to a comfy chair. My desk chair is good but not like a recliner lol.
Cheers! :beers:

You can find smaller end tables, or night stands and you don’t have to spend a fortune.

You just need enough space to fit your stack.

In the future this is where my xd05+ will end up :beers: I find it too big for my purposes to go truly mobile with it… it’s on my desktop for now

They should do a XD05- (minus) or something lol, without the battery. It looks so much like a desktop DAC anyway.

Yeah no doubt lol I can’t curse the thing because I think it’s great… minus is a great idea though… although they do have more actual portable options too

For the gym, I use an iPod Classic 5th gen which has RockBox loaded on it. That allows me to put flac files on it. Then I just use some cheap wired IEM’s with it. At the gym, I don’t care as much about having a superior listening experience.

Otherwise, if I’m semi-mobile at home or elsewhere, I’ll use the Pioneer XDP-300R DAP paired with the Fiio F9 Pro IEMs, balanced, or the BLON B20’s, unbalanced.

Wish I could find a nice leather case, or any decent case for that Pioneer, but I can’t find anything for it.

I rocked an ipod for a very very long time… much better than a discman or walkman
