šŸ› Tansio Mirai Discussion and Impressions

BTW I do not think the module works exactly like the Apex module. Regarding price I have 64A U4s and I slightly prefer these all around. I also have QDC Anole V14, and would not disregard one over the other. I am perfectly able to enjoy both and also 20$ IEMā€™s for that mather. I generally lean far more towards musicality and nice tuning than technicalityā€™s. As I say the whole point is to enjoy musicšŸ˜„.

I personally wouldnā€™t put any confidence in a ported graph. Thereā€™s are too many differences in rigs and too little known about that published graph for there to be any value in it imo

Yeah, good point. :100:

For sure, the graph needs to be taken with a shovels worth of salt. Edited to note just that. Hope a proper squig comes along soon enough

Graph is almost identical to my clone 711 graph. My graph falls some more over 10K, but the clone 711ā€™s is not accurate over 7-8K anyway.

Edit: Up to 8K the graphs are mostly identical.

I believe thats what they are calling their pressure relief system, with both a name and acting like it is an actual driver lol.

Have it on loan, can share more later today what I think.

Yep, pretty much just a damped vent (perhaps with a little passive radiator functionality, but I really doubt it). A little clarification: the thing on the left there is the vent (APEX like thing). The right is the dual DD.

Yeah I dont think it shares anything with how a PR works at all here.

aa right lol.

Pictures of the vent and the M12 Apex module.

Yeah, I think on FB someone from Penon/TSMR said theyā€™re interchangable, though att $100 each I wouldnā€™t be tempted to experiment.

They donā€™t . The Apex modules is slightly smaller, so they donā€™t seal in the TSMR-X chamber.

Ah, good to know. Guess you have to get out the teflon tape, if you want to try swapping! At least the Apex modules arenā€™t bigger.

If I really wanted to try I would put bigger o-rings on the Apex modules. But I donā€™t . If they make different versions I will buy them and try.

Iā€™m very impressed with them if thatā€™s worth anything

Nice shot  How are they comparing to other favorites in your collection, now that youā€™ve been listening for a couple days?

Got my X today!!!

Out-of-the-box sound impressions:

Iā€™m in a Star Wars mood today :flying_saucer: so this impression is based on orchestral pieces from several soundtracks. The X is in the stock mode (off-on-off).

Initial thought: Damn! Thatā€™s a nice bass! Punchy, wide. Nice detail.

Tech: well-detailed across the spectrum; layering seems average; sound stage seems a bit constricted, but still pleasant. At first seems more clinical ( but still engaging), musicality/emotion growing in me over time. Timber seems natural(ish). Not overly warm or bright sound signature.

Sound: The stock sound is bass rich itself, a slight more than I would want for orchestral/acoustic music. Mid bass has a sweet punch, kind of addictive. Vocals seem neutral to me, not accentuated , but not hidden. Brass and strings are well-balanced. Percussion as well. Nothing odd in the treble.

Overall: I will admit, this is a good iem for my preferences. Theres not an instant ā€˜wow factorā€™ for me compared to my recent trials of the Rn6 and VolĆ¼r ( both caused much happy giggling - they were that good!), however the X is quickly growing on me. I put rank it up with the IE600 and Neon Pro (two of my favorite mid-fi iems), and even more enjoyable than the Andromeda 2020ā€¦at much less the cost. That seems to be the magic of this iem. The price to sound ratio is fantastic!

Tansio Mirai X 10th Anniversary

Got this on loan from a friend, heres some short impressions after a few hours:
In short TSMR X is a hybrid with 2DD and 4BA with a vent module similar to 64audio on the faceplate.
I like to embrace the V shape and use it in 100 config for the most bass. Standard mode is 010 and has a little better balance but still V shaped. Most listening been on stock 010.

Highlights perhaps the punchy and deep bass. Quite visceral on bassy music.

Clear treble, perhaps a little spicy on certain parts. Also good amount of air to the TSMR X.
Better on darker vocals than bright ones, mids in general is shadowed by bass and treble and can sound a little behind.
The soundstage I dont feel is that good, sounds more closed in for me.
Imaging is still very 3D and good.

As a V shaped set its good. And would rather say price is correct at 400usd. I would pick this instead of Meastro Mini as a v shaped bassy set.

Also will say I think this is one of Penon/TSMR better models, excellent and deserve the praise.

Iā€™m still deep in honeymoon phase but I have nothing that plays bass in the same way. As Whole I love em comparison with others is difficult at this time as I donā€™t have anything with this presentation of sound they are bass, with loads of clarity in the mids and more treble than Iā€™ve personally experienced though itā€™s not harsh or fatiguing over the last 48 hours the only moments Iā€™ve noticed anything less than stellar is with voices like Steven Tyler when he does high pitched scatting/screaming thereā€™s a touch of thinness thatā€™s not obvious with anything Iā€™ve noticed perhaps on super distorted guitars in speed metal too.
Honestly itā€™s been probably 3 tracks in over 18 hours of listening time. Iā€™m using down up down setting as the up down down is too much bass even for me a man that loves big bass. If you are a fan of lush laid back like something on the lines of Oriveti OH700VB you may not like thses as they are wonderfully visceral with lots of clarity at the expense of smooth warmth. Did I say I love em? Yeah best blind buy for a long time.
