If nothing else it lets them do some more ridiculous stuff at the top end of the skill spectrum…
it’s not cheating, it’s training mode! the heli’s under $150 are all locked in with the gyro, you can’t disable it, but for the heli over $150, most of those have 2 or 3 modes…training, a bit more relaxed and then no gyro.
the XK models from WLToys are popular as are the one’s from Eachine.
Yeah, the Horizon Hobby stuff with SAFE all have a beginner, intermediate, and advanced mode. Beginner mode on an airplane is kind of funny and annoying, too. You can’t do more than a gentle bank and you can maybe pitch the nose down about 10 degrees.
- When in doubt trust @M0N
- Listen to as much variety of gear with as many different types of music so you can better define what you want and your preferences.
- Watch reviews but avoid buying latest FOTM gear (7hz, LCD5, Holo May)
- Watch the classifieds like a hawk to know your prices; learn how to submit offers and deal with rejections.
- It’s always about the music… meaning not how gear looks nor the brand nor the price nor the measurements. What makes you want to listen and enjoy music more.
- Community… Ditch the negativity crap talker areas and embrace people of like mind that are looking to help.
- Streaming… I should have adopted this years ago.
- Frequency response and sinad have very very little to do if I’m going to enjoy a piece of equipment.
I am with you for everything except # 7.
- Marz is good for a laugh and giggle
well…as discussed n other threads…you’re allowed to be wrong.
essentially though, isn’t moving anyting from a digital source, whether it’s off the internet cloud or your cloud, streaming? so doesn’t matter of it’s Spotify or a FLAC off your PC, that’s technically streaming, no?
well, it’s training mode and will help save a beginner from most crashes and the expensive repairs that accompany them…or even experienced pilots as it will compensate for wind and such for when flying gets difficult or challenging.
the new Aura 5 Lite controller is a wonderful bit of kit! my understanding is it was a colab with Flite Test when they wanted something more affordable that was also easier to use / program. you an buy it from other places now as I’ve seen it listed here and there a few times.
but, this is a audio learning thread…perhaps a mod can move all our RC discussion into the hobby thread?
I have my collection on my DAP’s and my computers. No bandwidth needed to play them at home or on the road. I buy new music from iTunes and Band camp, so the bands can make an actual living.
I don’t have to listen to any commercials, except when researching on YouTube.
I don’t pay any scummy streaming company a monthly fee.
I actually pay the band Real money.
But of course people are free to do what they want. And most will just steal it so streamers say well it’s better than nothing right??? The band’s are only getting a tiny fraction of those $billions in streaming revenue.
Guilty as charged, CD and dowloads dropped to zero after apple launched hirez/spatial. would buy concert blurays in a hot minute.
I was a doubter but now I’m converted. Still love my vinyl but streaming allowed me to listen to anything at anytime. Then return back to my comfort areas.
guy i used to know had one of those choppers. said it cost between $5,000-$10,000 for his setup and he had to limit power or the blade tips would break the sound barrier and explode, shooting carbon fiber shrapnel everywhere. he also made the guy in that video look like a rookie. i didn’t like being around when he was flying his chopper, it was terrifying. the noise it made just burrows into your brain and enveloped the sound all around you. birds used to dive bomb it trying to attack it and he had to dodge them or spend a ton of money fixing his chopper lol. also the battery or capacitors or whatever could discharge fast enough to kill you.
he was like this kind of good
Yeah, I was looking for the video from the night flight at Horizon RC Fest this year, guy was running a chopper through the ring of fire like a demon. Couldn’t find it.
Id control it like a real copter. Whats the payload, could you lift a RC humvee?
My setup would be two opposing bases on the 20 acre property with the powerball money after i build the main house.
Since we have a endgame thread someone make a what would buy with the lotto winnings thread.
I listen to all my stuff digitally, but I don’t subscribe to a streaming service.
I tried to like streaming services for a long time and hated all of them until i found amazon hd. the catalog isn’t complete by any means (though they still have a surprising amount of lesser known artists) but the quality is outstanding and exclusive mode definitely makes a difference.
Yep, AMHD is working out just fine for me. And I use it guilt free along with all the other music I have purchased over the years. I was using my personal collection over the streaming service by a wide margin 3 months ago, but I would say the streaming has finally overtaken the personal collection. There is so much new music to discover and enjoy. And the quality is definitely there, now. I love it.
One way for the artist to get or maintain rockstar status might be full concert video that can be streamed from the apple music app. Id buy the concert like a movie, hell id pay couple dollars more if the music vids where shot in 4k/atmos.
I’m watching some of Andrew Robinson’s reviews and he said something I really liked.
paraphrasing the essence, ‘new budget / entry level audio equipment have been the most exciting products coming to market; much more-so than high end. with really good budget parts, you can be surprised while you almost always know what you’re going to get with high end. if something surprises you, it’s a winner’.
so hype isn’t always hype…
