Topping D90 III Discrete 1-Bit DAC

That’s nice to read. I’m very interested in the D90 Discrete now.

I’d wait for a sale. It will save you 150 bucks or so.

Anyone here having issues with a popping sound when audio signal begins and ends? Mine does it no matter what Input and output I use. The only thing that lowers the pop is if I go down to 16 bit. Apparently topping knows about this as I’ve reached out to them. Just looking for a possible cure before I switch to a cyan 2 or something similar.

No issue here whatsoever. Works beautifully.

I’m feeding it via Coax from my If Zen Steam fyi.

Have not tried USB though, but I always prefer Coax over USB anyway so not an issue.

But it sounds like it could be an issue with USB?
Make sure to play with the settings in the D90 Discrete. You enter settings by holding in the front button during power-up.

It doesn’t matter what input source I use it still does it. I can’t really tell if it does it through the rca output to my home stereo because my speakers may be too large for me to pick it up. But its super noticeable through headphones and no matter what output i use for them. What are your settings if you don’t mind me asking? And I also reached out to Topping about this issue and they are aware of it being model wide. I’m also on the newest firmware.

Had exactly the same issue. I have returned it. It’s a shame because sound quality is excellent!

I have DSD bypass mode: ON
5v mode: ON
DAC mode: ON
XLR output, RCA input.

Basically everything else I have set to OFF.

Mine is pretty similar except I’m using usb. What bitrate are you using?

I am using MAX quality on Tidal, which is close to 10k bitrate. It just works perfectly as intended as far as I am aware!

I’ve had a similar experience. I started using usb on the d90 with really no issues to speak of. I have since picked up a DDC and use I2S now on it. I haven’ t had issues with either input. I use MAX quality on Tidal as well.
