Curious to see how you think it affects your system (hopefully very positive)
Iām still in search of what I remember hearing 30+ years ago when I got into HIFi (as opposed to what I heard 30 years ago).
Iām hoping for a more āanalogā or refined sound. I still retain predudices from when I started in Hifi, closer to the source means more important cartridge > tone arm > turn table Etc.
There is an element of irony, in that my start in audio was really writing digital synthesizer software and processing software, and all Iām looking for is a more analog sound.
Well you should be in luck then as the multibit dacs sound more āanalogā to most people lol
Iām really looking forwards to hearing it.
Iāll probably pick up a couple of other higher end DACās over time used and just sell what I donāt prefer. Seems like an easy way to be lazy and audition stuff.
Convenient to have it in your home lol. If you get the chance, try a Holo audio spring2 kte, excellent dac for the price and with a sound you might really enjoy (perhaps Iāll sell mine if I get that msb dac lol)
Iād heard very good things about it, but Iām still at the what do I want spend on what level.
Might take me 6 months to work up to a Spring2.
Iām still vacillating in what I want to spend on a tube headphone amp, that might take a few months to work up to the point there are real optionsā¦
I really donāt like changing a lot all at once, Iām still listening to the Ether CX, and they are still growing on me on solid state amplification.
And still loving the ZDT Jr.
Ah yes, all the options and things to consider lol, well hopefully you are very satisfied with the dac when it gets in
And regarding the ether, I generally prefer planars on a solid state for the most part, as you have to have a really good tube amp for them to sound just as good imo
Something to look into actually could be the ican pro (or the stack along with the idsd pro), as itās a solid state with a ton of power, but you can also choose varying levels of tube if you can make up if you want a solid state or tube lol. Also the ifi house sound aims for an analog feel as well in most of their products
