Not as much as you’re led to believe
Hehe prolly true. I am a big gear slut so for me it’d be like going to a theme park, and meeting some of my fellow hobbyists in person would be pretty cool bonus too.
That part is the truth. CanJam was worth the price of admission to get to try so much of the gear I’ve heard so much about
Tuning Foams, iFixit tweezers, and my IEC 711 to go with it. 4/6 of my IEMs I’ve fine-tuned to my preferences and treble sensitivities with single and mixed foam implementations.
A close second is my qdc 8SL, it’s lasted the longest in my collection and won’t be going anywhere. If I could only have 1 IEM it would be that. It’s like it was made for my ears.
wish I could buy those ePro horn tips on Amazon, need to see how much they tame the Project M treble wise, Spiral dots do the trick for now
During COVID pandemic, a used Sonos Connect off fleabay for the home-working space I had to set-up in spare bedroom when we were in lockdown restrictions (hooked up to Audioengine A2+ speakers we already had). 100% kept me sane over that time.
Geshelli J2. being able to drop the dac output volume down to medium and gain more precise control of volume greatly enhanced my enjoyment at my primary listening setup.
Easily Qudelix 5k. Shout-out to my EQ supremacists.
Hifi : lyngdorf room correction.
Total game changer for me…will never listen to my music system without it again.
IEMs : Monarch mkii.
I find the eHorn tips increase sense of depth, increase frontal sound projection and increase saturation of the upper mids while focusing the treble, causing it to not be too spread out.
It’s actually really nice, but the tips themselves tend to get stuck in my ears because they don’t stay on the nozzle on most IEMs, which is a shame.
Over many years I’ve pretty much always ended up having/using one of these. I don’t even use the EQ. It’s just easily the best weight/performance/app/BT range of anything like it.
Most intelligent response in this thread so far…
I dunno if I like the cut of your jib there, Cutter of toes. But you cut toes…so what do I even know
You too are quite intelligent…there…you happy now
My initial IEM purchase included the Fiio BTR5, and I still use it to this day. The first time I used it with my SHP9500 was mind blowing ( I had been running them from my PC ). I used the BTR5 yesterday with some $9 earbuds.
Also this is week 2 for me acknowledging “Riku was right”
Earbuds are insane value, $5-10 bucks can buy good flatheads.
It’s such a meme but running a good $10 earbud on a strong $X00+ amp is a bit of a religious experience
Faaeal Iris 2.0 on the KA17 lives up to the meme.
Maybe three…
(1)…Gateway buy, on the 10/07/2010 I purchased my first grownup IEM a pair of B grade Shure SE530’s (still own) for the princely sum of £234.00 and…
(2)…A blind buy after @hawaiibadboy Chris’s og rec…Get a set of Z1R’s, retire from the hobby and enjoy your music, and I did just that, a great fit for me and I’ve never left a listening session disappointed to this day. In fact that set saved me so much £ over the years by not wanting anything else but just listen to my library. The only other IEM I’ve bought since was Timeless to see where planar’s were going (I liked that set but didn’t do anything new for me so gave it away)
(3)…Buds, my new love they offer so much musicality for so little Started with TGXear’s Serratus and Sunniva both great sets but TBH @Rikudou_Goku Riku’s S3 have stolen my heart, effortless replay that works with all my library and the RG39 shell fit is spot on…So I pretty much only listen to Z1R and the S3’s on a daily with the odd source and set switcharoo…
In and out like a thief in the night! Lol
Ahhh…the mighty Z1r…I hated letting her go…but I wasn’t willing to put up with numb holes for the sake of incredible performance
They definitely look good on you though…mech face with mech monitor…
lovingly said with all due respect because I know my margins are getting slimmer…but…
