Same for me. I have a list of IEMs I want to get but haven’t pulled the trigger on any just yet

Out of curiosity which ones are you looking at/ considering?

I honestly think my first will be the Blon BL-03. But I’m considering the Kinera Seed or the Moondrop Starfield as well.

Would love to work my way up to the Moondrop S8.

Moondrop S8 is fine, but I’ll probably be selling mine soon. The Starfield and Blessing 2 seem like they offer close to the same sound at much better prices. But, if Harman tuning is your thing, they are very competent

BQEYZ Spring 1 (Keep) Good technicalities but somewhat messy tuning
Blon BL03 (Sold)
Ikko OH 1 (keep)
Blessing 2 OH BOY what an ear-opener pair of iem $320 well spent no doubt.

Beginning with the first iem, then into the foray of the iem black hole…
Not knowing anything about this field (not that I have actually learned anything), I began with tws, what a waste of time and $$$…

Final e3000c (kept, nice go to)
Final e4000 (sold)
Sony WH-755 (have 4pr)
Sony WH-750 (have 8pr) excellent back-up to the back-up of the 3000’
Periodic Audio be (sold)
DUNU dk-2001 (sold, had minor fitment issues, I am missing them already)
Sony XBA-N3 (selling)
Reecho and Peacock Spring (very good technicalities, but a little too much detail for me, prob. sell).
Thieaudio Legacy 3 (en-route) Looking forward to these.
Penon Audio Sphere (en-route) Also, I am definitely looking forward to these…
Wish I would have known what I now realize: the type of sound I enjoy (and don’t), the difference in fit of a uiem, and the tips/cables thing, and various lists" and ranking websites…I could have saved all that $$$ and just tried the Hidition NT6 or the Kumitate KL Sirius… and then for back-up, the Final e3000…
Cheers

Hi, I’m new here…

X * Random $10 - they made noice
Sony Ericsson Walkman w810 - it made sound
Iphone 3,5,6,8 plugs - the ones that look like air pods are not total shit

Koss The Plugg - could never get a good fit, bass if you hold them in place

Klipsch S4 - bass, broke
Klipsch S4i - bass, broke
Klipsch S4i white - bass, broke. You’d think I’d learn?

Shure SE215 - they play music when you get them to fit.

Xiaomi Mi piston 2,3 or basic? - some version with “R” on both cups, need something cheap for work

NuForce HEM8 - by (Mass)Drop $200, comfy easy fit, sensitiv AF, sounds good I guess? Only thing I can compare with realisticly are the Shures these are better.
Yesterday I had to crack the right one open and re-glue the Bass-BA since it came lose :frowning: it worked!

And now I’ve found Z and you guys and sit here with new dac, amps* and some headphones in the mail and wonder:
Were do I go from 215 and HEM8 with the Chi-Fi IEMs?
Been eyeing the Starfields…

  • will post in headphone progression.

[edit] Fuuu - Blon Bl-03 $22 @ Drop - ordered…

Hahahaha, for me, over ~15 year stretch, generically:
super cheap > super expensive (but never did CIEM) > uber expensive > **big time sell-off of gear after disillusionment with the hobby > ~6 years ago deciding mid-price is the right thing for me > Sony XBA-Z5 have been my sole IEM for over 5.5 years (well, other than the crap that comes with smart phones)

–I reluctantly admitted to myself back then I also am not a headphone guy; sold everything.
–I am just now shopping round a bit for a new IEM set. Absolutely will not go all-BA. I need DD for bass, unless/until technology solves this for me. It’s highly likely I go hybrid/tribrid.

I have spent the majority of my IEM experience on the KZ train.
I’ve had and still have the:
KZ ZS5
KZ ZS6
KZ ZSN
KZ ZS7

I then had the:
Nuforce EDC (the Nuforce IEMs are still the most comfortable for me)
Nuforce HEM1
BGVP DMG (which I gave away after not owning it for very long)
FiiO FH5

I have not used any other IEM since since I’m completely satisfied with the FH5

How’s the bass on B2s vs Starfield? I’ve read somewhere that the Blessing 2 is bass anemic. Being also the closest to ToTL tuning, this is just confusing to me. I like a little sub-bass rumble.

It is not anemic lol. It is bass light but bass is present on songs that calls for it, that is why most people consider it a reference iem. But if you want your bass quantity to be on the higher side, then it might be a a little too light for you.

How do you rate that set mate? as it’s always interested me.

Too early to give detailed impressions, but needless to say, they’re the best things I’ve ever heard.
