What’s your IEM progression?

I’d be inclined you agree with you - I think there might be a fault with the bass drivers on your pair.
I’ve had the LX and the Z1R in my possession at the same time in the past and, because so many friends had spoken of the Sony’s bass performance, I did a direct comparison when I had them. Based on bass quantity alone, there is simply no comparison - the LX has a noticeably larger bass quantity. If your unit is still under warranty it’s worth contacting EE about this, IMO.

You mentioned your progression quite a few months ago. I am curious if your collection has evolved now or does it remain the same. Do you have any favorites at the moment?

$25 random noname company “boltune” IPX7 super waterproof bass heavy wireless earbuds with charging case
-> $50 TWS600 IPX4 wireless charing earbuds

put all that info because honestly that is all I care about, super goodsound quality for wireless earbuds can be had at $100 anyway so both are probably good(get TWS600 tomorrow) that being said the biggest part for me is the sweatproof on TWS600 and complete submersion waterpoof on the the $25 “boltune” ones combines with the wireless + each like 40 hours thru charging case I just can’t complain maybe one day i will splerge $100 for a good set or $200 for a really good but as far as buds I am 100% done with wired when i can get decent audio and all the above for such little money

also I mainly use it for working out, showers, cooking, and to listen to nature noises when I goto bed they have really helped me sleep the little $25 pair

It’s changed a little, but not massively. Since my last posting, I have added the Noble Sultan with custom faceplates, picked up a pair of Andromeda S and I’ve sold the U18t and the SE846.
My Katana has gone for a reshell, as has my NT6. When they come back, I will most likely sell the Katana

My favourites are kinda obvious - I spend most of my time listening to the Erlkonig/Thummim/Sultan/Legend X
Andro S and FIBAE 7 are what I grab if I want a walkaround pair, they’re usually attached to a 3.5mm cable which is then used with my LG V50S, nice and easy and portable. So I’d say those are my most used for various different reasons and/or genres

Thank you for letting me know. I am still in the refit process as customs take a while for me to get right even if I get good seal so hopefully they are faulty drivers or else this would be a slight disappointing purchase since it sounded like the perfect IEM for me from reviews. High technicalities across the frequency range, but with a large bass boost.

Edit: My Legend X does have incredible technical performance and don’t regret the purchase, I just might need to look elsewhere to find the bass head IEM that I am looking for

Tipsy has released it’s First TWS. It’s not exactly new. Maybe released a month ago, here’s a review I found:

Lol. My progression:

Legacy 3 - to see if I even like IEMs
UM Mests - once I figured they were fine

That’s one heck of a progression. Where does one go from there?

Lol. Into shit with MAPs like 3k+ is the only thing I can think of. Tbh though, I’m super fucning happy with these mests so I have no real desire to step up as of right now. Ill try VX and Z1R at some point but I’m happy so ill just chill. Plus I need to get rig of a bunch of cans tbh…

Why these two, out of curiosity?

started off with Tin T2, KZ zs10pro, blon bl03, and a dozen or so other chi-fi flavor of the month under $100 crap. Then progressed to slightly more expensive chi-fi; Starfields, ikko oh-10, bgvp dm7. Went from there into obravo cupids and meze rai solo. then finally decided chi-fi and their QC is not for me and never looked back.

Next my progression went like this; Campfire Andromeda 2020 > Earsonics Grace > Hyla Sarda > 64 audio Tia Trio.

I currently only own the sarda and technically the trio (i just bought this last week and still waiting for it in the mail).

honorable mentions; i’ve also been auditioning some higher end stuff lately. Vision Ears VE8 and Elysium as well as the FIR Audio M4 and M5.

:100: with you there. The flavor of the month frustrated me enough that I almost gave up on IEMs all together.

Pretty new to IEMs

Tin t3 - think these are really good, great technicalities and quite flat without sounding lifeless. I can hear up to 18k, I wonder if the frequencies after that are just murder on them because I often hear people say they are treble murder which I don’t agree with. I use foams though so perhaps silicone accentuates the upper freqs.

Starfield - not as technically competent as the tins but still decent and probably a more natural sounding stage. But it certainly hit me pretty quickly how non-fatiguing they were as I was so used to the trebly nature of the tins. Very smooth and cohesive.

Got in on the latest shipment from drop for the Blon-03s. I may get the tin t4s but after that I am done with the entry level I think.

A couple guys in chats that I’m in (same ones that won’t shut up about mests which i have loved) just seem to love them and their use ranges around 1200 usd is a price braket I’m comfortable with. Above that and I don’t realy know what’s out there

I see. I just probably wouldn’t blind buy either one. I demo’ed a Z1R and it sounded pretty fun, but the fit was so terrible for me that it wasn’t worth the trouble.

Fair. Tbh, im quite happy so I probabaly won’t make any moves for a bit here anyways. And if I do, its more likely to be the clear MG than an iem tbh.

Just wish I could find a place to demo one in socal -.-

I bought the Z1R blind and I’m not looking for another set, fit’s me like a glove happy after 4+hrs of use (even more comfortable than my OG andro’s) but as @Veritas says the fit and weight can be a make or break for some.

Unfortunately the case for me as well with the Z1R. I really liked what I does presentation wise, especially in the bass region. If I could find something with that same sound but would actually stay in my ears, I’d strongly consider picking it up. For now, though, I’m really enjoying mostly my Trinity SS and Rai Penta most frequently. From what I’ve heard of the Rhapsodio Infinity MkII, though, I’m waiting on it to hit the used market.
