The spark is really nice and really small could use the ta10 dac or sanskrit ( or wait until the spark dac is released;) )
Yeah you could use your xd05’s line out until the dac is released. It would be a much prettier stack.
Maybe you could also lay something bigger sideways until you have more room?
The space on the sides are taken up by the iLouds
What about the K5 Pro? Seems to fit the bill if you can find one in stock.
Eh, I can’t say I’m feeling it with that one. I know @M0N is constantly suggesting it, but the two points it’ll tick are: size and a good solid state amp.
I’m considering going with the Sanskrit and Spark. It just seems to tick most of the boxes, and the Spark seems to win over in most cases.
Should be pretty nice let us know how is goes
At this point, it’s almost a question of is the mkII worth the extra $30
Use the ta10 and wait for more reviews and comparisons?
I’m not gonna be pulling the trigger quite yet, but I don’t see anything changing anytime soon.
Opting for Schiit Heresy. Superior performance out of bunch, simple blocky design so you can put it on top of sth without any problems. Don’t use TA10’S DAC. It’s terrible.
What makes the Heresy superior to all the others, and how is the TA10’s DAC terrible?
SINAD and SNR measurements are just outstanding. Also power is really clean, Atom level which not many amps can really show the same thing.
TA10’s DAC is simply terrible. Sucks detail out of music, sounds boring, empty. Had it for like… 3 months I think for testing. Wasn’t really happy with it, especially when you have like 32/60 ohm headphones, tube clacking can hurt your ears.
I’ve no idea what you mean by that
Sounds to me more like you just don’t like tubes.
Now, please, if you could, in layman’s terms, explain how with this low end of hardware, the TA10’s DAC is going to be any noticably different then others, then I’m all ears.
I cant speak on the specs so maybe its superior in that regard on paper but from my experience it comes down to which sound you’re looking for… they’re both fantastic amps
