Excellent. I have to ask… What made you choose the Cadenza 12 over the Cadenza 12? I’m also kinda shocked that the Cadenza 12 ended up 5th…

As of late:

  1. STORM
  2. Europa/Crimson
  3. Ziigaat Estrella/Odyssey
  4. Kinera Imperial Loki Emerald
  5. Simgot EM10

Not extremely stratified tiers, mostly down to mood and music of choice.

I have been hearing/reading good things about Europa.

It’s literally Crimson with less spice up top; makes for a slightly more mid-centric and mature sound while technically excellent. I don’t put one over the other but for long, general listening Europa usually wins out. @Jaytiss had a great review of it recently.

Cool, I’ll check it out. This one could be a possible “next” for me. Gotta save up a little, though. It’s a big hop up from what I have been doing.

Yeah, it’s not cheap for sure and there’s not a lot of used ones that turn up ever (both because limited production and people enjoying them haha). The good news is that Symphonium says that they’ll keep making them as long as they’re in business/parts are available, so it’s not a mad rush like say STORM or Helios SE.

No worries there, I don’t get bothered by sets like Storm because I will never pay that much for one. But that is just me. I have motorcycles to feed… :sunglasses:

But Europa… I Can do that. For me, that is a reasonable end game.

Thanks . It’s a great set.

Based on amount of usage:

  1. Thieaudio Monarch MKIII
  2. Unique Melody MEST MKII (Custom)
  3. Moondrop KATO
  4. Ikko OH10
  5. TIN P1

Honorable mention
Campfire Audio Trifecta - just not getting enough use

MEST MKII would be in No.1 position if it wasn’t custom, I’d be taking it out more

  1. Cadenza 12
Still in honeymoon phase. Balanced, detailed and somewhat analytical* while still being fun. I love following different instruments with it but it does not dissect the music to a degree where you loose the sense for its wholenes if that makes sense
edit: *I think it´s better to describe it as musical with analytical traits. Calling it analytical feels wrong

  2. Legend EVO
With EQ. Grande and spacious bone conduction magic. After listening to C12 for the last couple of days I was pleasantly surprised how fantastic EVO is sounding, I thought it could not compete with Cadenza´s finesse but it actually can it just needs a bit more volume for the same kind of dynamics. With EQ it reminds me a lot of Grand Maestro just better and more spacious.
I´m absolutely thrilled right now as I am listening. It is as if you are standing in a big room where there is music playing, absolutely enveloping.
Nothing let´s you appreciate your IEMs more than switching to something else and then coming back after a while…it´s crazy how fast you get used to great sound and how it can become nothing special after a while.

  3. EJ07m Kinda Lava (retuning +3db bass)
My first love and bigger investment in the hobby. To this day one of my favourite sounding IEMs. Mids to die for. Slightly dark therefore perfect for looong listening sessions. EQ let´s those ESTs shine and elevates it to Audio Nirvana. Best fitting IEM for me.

  4. Wu Zetian OG
Love the tuning but the IEM does not see a lot of use.
Used it once last year for hiking, will probably gift it to one of my nephews as soon as they are ready to appreciate and take good care of it.

  5. DON´T MAKE ME BUY ANOTHER IEM!
Only thing that really interests me is EJ07´s successor the Serenade. Letshuoer fanboy here :raising_hand_man:

With the new arrival, there has been a shakeup!

Listed and ranked

  • Hisenior Mega5est
  • Dunu Da Vinci
  • Aful P5+2 (P7)
  • Pula PA02
  • Gizaudio x Binary Acoustics Chopin

The new kid went right to the top. The Penta P50 may not be on the list anymore but I will still listen to it. Overall, it’s an eclectic little group! I enjoy them all.

Come to think of it, my preferred IEMs also are a bit of an eclectic group. Perhaps this is because I still am enjoying the exploration of variations around my overall preferred sound signature in order to see what works a bit better for specific music genres.

  1. Aurvana Ace 2 → 7Hz H08 Horn

Few days ago I started tinkering with tips for the IER-Z1R since sibilance was still a bit of an issue with the set, even with a deep insert. Got the largest 7Hz H08 Horn and shoved it down the lowest part of the nozzle at the base giving it a ‘no-neck’ -kind of aesthetic –shot straight up to the top of the list. Perfect weight distribution and the treble is now spot-on.

Turning the IER-Z1R into a no-neck with the 7Hz H08 Horn tip? Genius move! It’s wild how something as simple as tip placement can completely transform the treble.
