That’s brutal. Good to hear that you are able to enjoy the music once again.
I just purchased a new DAP for the first time in years. I’ve been running through all my older IEMs and I realized I had completely forgotten how good some of these older ones are. This hobby is always about chasing the hype train and sadly we leave some incredible IEMs to collect dust. I’ve currently fallen back in love with the Thieaudio Legacy 3. I had not pulled them out in ages! They still equal or in many cases beat some of the newer ones I have. I guess maybe I should buy a new source more often lol. Speaking of that if you’re thinking about getting a pure Music player I Highly recommended the Shanling M1 Plus. This thing sounds incredible and has enough power to run my HiFiman Edition XS. Anyway, before you buy the next hype train IEM, try a new source with all your old Favorites. You just might find Magick all over again ![]()

YU9 Que. Because I’ve got YU9 Etymotic style sets and Elise Audio were promoting this it seemed like worthwhile blind buy despite the hype. And it’s proved to be. Great tone, general midrange emphasis but with strong bass and treble, great separation. Really good. Something I really appreciate is the best eartips with these are the ones they come with.
BGVP Phantom SE. Quadbrid, if thats an actual thing. I was loaned the original resin nozzle Phantom some time ago. Price was prohibitive but it stuck in my head. Anyway I gave in to the itch and bought the SE. The metal nozzle helps. There’s something going on in top end which is a bit ethereal.
Shanling MG800. Single DD. Surprisingly bright and airy sounding. Needs some volume.
Symphonium Meteor. I keep picking them up and listening to them to see if they’re still shit. Yes, still shit.
Dunu SA6. All BA. Original one. Lost count of how many SA6 “something”s they’ve done. These have grown on me. Clarion tips settled things down.
. Had a good laugh at this:sweat_smile:. I had Meteor but it never clicked with me either. I wouldn’t call it shit, it has its fans, but not for me at least:blush:
Yeah they’re not that bad. But for a bass set I don’t like the way they do bass. Which isn’t ideal. Classic rock and ‘80s guitar music sounds good in the mids. I appreciate an unorthodox tuning but can’t figure out what this is supposed to do. If it were cheaper I wouldn’t care.
