$100-$150 competitive headphones

I consider myself a competitive gamer I was wondering what’s the best headphones for competitive for 100 dollars and if worth it I can extend to 150

Do you have an amp? What games are you playing? And will these just be for music?

The guys at the master swich has a list of gaming headphones:

The HyperX Cloud Revolver S ($150) came out on top

I’m playing rainbow six siege, modern warfare and apex legends currently and no I don’t have an amp

Gotcha, well in that range, you have stuff like the ad700x or ad900x which are great for pure imaging and soundstaging, not the best for music but very good for competitive (doesn’t really need an amp either). For an all rounder headphone that doesn’t need an amp as well, the hd58x is a solid pick and will serve you well imo.

Ok thanks I’ll check em out

If you’re going that route, pc37x’s are phenomenal and more comfortable.

Also true, very solid if you want something with a good mic and pretty good sound as well

To put in perspective, I only managed to marginally enjoy better sound quality from an Airist 2-2R + Schiit Heresy/THX 887 + pc37x by going the Bifrost 2 + RNHP + LCD X with a mod mic is the only substantial improvement I’ve made.

Pc37x first, if you want more power/better dac experience then get a Schiit Fulla 3. After that… it gets expensive to get to a point where I say one finds a truly better and more enjoyable sound. At least… that was my experience. Watch the Zeos review on the pc37x, I have to agree 100% with what he said.

I was told the ad700x doesn’t have good imaging and that the SHP9500 had better imaging

There is a thread on here about others’ experiences with the SHP9500. It seemed that most expressed disappointment in them.

Well I mean there’s a difference between being told something has better imaging and actually comparing both lol.

Yeah someone disagreed with him

Strange, that isn’t my experience with them, the main reason I would pick the 700x is for it’s imaging and staging capabilities, along with it’s brighter bass light signature
