Hi all,
Last week I bough my first proper headphone, the 1more triple driver. After weeks of researching and watching reviews, I decided to give them a go.
They sound really good and I like them so much, but they are utterly uncomfortable. I can’t wear them more than 2 hours and I have to adjust them every 20 minutes.
I am thinking about returning them and buying a different headphones.
They cost me £150 and I would not want to spend more than £180-190. Also I only have a Fiio m3k that I use as my portable music player and desktop dac-amp.
I’ve seen the meze 99 neo that according to some reviews they sound pretty similar and cost £180 in the uk.
I love bass, but I don’t know enough about music and definitely not enough experience to say I am basshead or anything close to be an audiophile.
Do you think that the meze 99 neo would be similar to the 1More and more comfy?
Do you have any other recommendations?
I would say go for it. I have both. except mine is a meze noir and i was surprised how similar they were also. but if you can stretch your bucks go for a sundara.
Thank you for your reply. The Sundara is a bit too much and I am not sure if the m3k could be able to drive it properly.
I am still looking for other options, but it seems that the meze would be the chosen.
yeah the meze’s make really nice headphones. but i bought the Noir off of massdrop and it did now sound good with the default pads. thankfully they had a 2nd pair of pads i used on it and it came alive. sounded great. so be aware they may need a pad change. i’m not sure what pads come with the neo or if theres a 2nd set like the nior
The meze gear should fit your needs well. Another option would be the dt 770 250 ohm you get more soundstage and a similar amount of bass and treble but they are harder to drive than both the meze and one more
I’ve received the Meze 99 neo. It sounds really good with my m3k.
The main difference I feel is that the 1More sound has “more mass”. I don’t know how to explain it, but it is like having bigger speakers and subwoofers, same volume, same kind of sound characteristics, but it hits you harder. It could be because of the passive radiator and that it seats closer to the ears
