Class D speaker amps are at an all time high-level and I predict will challenge the best of the class A, AB designs out there for a fraction of the cost, weight and power consumption.
I recently picked up this 2lbs monster killer, the A5, to replace a 85lbs. class AB hybrid tube amp I’ve had for a number of years…I’m not one that believes every amp sounds the same and this little PFFB design I feel sounds better than my legacy AB beast that will be sold shortly.
I have no experience with the Fosi versions of the PFFB design but I’m super pleased with the 3e A5. 3e has been in the DIY and OEM amplifier business for some time now. This is their first retail, ready to go, solution. Apparently some of the high-end makers use the 3e modules in their fancy, expensive amps. I don’t care about looks as I hide it all away anyway.
